What are mind games?Posted : 4 Sep, 2009 09:51 AMSo, I see in profiles regularly that people (I am typically looking at female profiles as I am male) don't want anyone who contacts them to play "mind games". Perhaps this is similar to "players"? I am assuming that it is a negative experience, however, I would be interested to know what these mind games are, not to be negative, but to educate anyone who might want to avoid such situations. Give your definition please. |

What are mind games?Posted : 4 Sep, 2009 11:38 AMThe actual definition of mind game is: "passive aggressive behavior used specifically to demoralize or empower the thinking subject, often making the aggressor look superior." |

What are mind games?Posted : 4 Sep, 2009 09:26 PMBut what do these people actually do when they play mind games? I can know a technical definition, however, I may be unaware when it's actually happening to me, hence, I am being "played". What are the warning signs, the recurring situations, the clear examples of what happens that should sound the alarm in our heads? |

What are mind games?Posted : 4 Sep, 2009 10:30 PMWell, the last person I met on here was a "player" so to speak. He led me to believe that I was the only person he was talking to (told me he was still here for the chat forums), we had met in person, hit it off great and talked daily on the phone - he called me things like sweetie, cutie...terms of endearment. Told me he missed me, asked when we would see each other again, etc. etc. I then found out that not only was he still talking to other women, but had gone out with one (probably more) of them. His excuse was he had decided we lived too far apart - we're three hours apart, which really isn't that far for this site. Nice of him to let me in on it. And...I had no clue this was coming. I'll keep checking this post, though - cause I really don't want this to happen again. :-( |

What are mind games?Posted : 4 Oct, 2009 09:18 AMPersonaly I'm leery of anyone who uses terms of endearment before they know me really well. A man calling me" sweetie" is such a turnoff. |
