IS it wrong to trust?
Posted : 12 Aug, 2009 01:00 PM

Hello everyone... Its my first time asking a question.. I kind of like this forum thing.

But I wanted to ask if its ok to believe that the person u are talking to is being honest with you.

I tend to believe that what the other person is telling is all true. I mean..

I am being honest so I assume people are honeSt with me.

I have the same problem with people I meet at school or even work. Why do I believe everything

People tell me is true?

I've had an experience here and many with people I thought were my "friends".

Should I Doubt everyone?

I would say its okay to trust to some extent. I know when it comes to me, I will tend to believe what people what are telling me, but I keep tucked in the back of my head that this could be a lie as well. I would say don't read into things too much until you know you're 100% positive that the person on the other end is really. I haven't run into any bad, bad situations myself yet. I have met one person off here and it didn't turn out that bad. They were the person they said they were. We just don't talk anymore. So, hope that helps.

Oh, I wish I had such faith. I genereally dont trust until given reason to. My personality is "still waters run deep" and I am an Analyst by profession so those two combined dont help matters. HOWEVER, here is where I get worried for me - once I trust, it takes toooo long to break the trust! Even when I see things wrong, I keep analyzing in that person's favor. Not answering your question but I feel you!

Well Nora, when I talked to you, I told you it was only single serving advice and that I wouldn't be able to help you any further then tell you the truth about how things are, and to point you here, where you ended up, for further advice. I hope you did not think me a bad freind for doing so, but I had my reasons and oddly enough, here you are, getting the advice you need. But I've been praying for you and hope you are healing well.

Everything I told you, about life, and love and relationships (totaly unrealted to you and I) is/was true and it still stands as it's merit is in the word of God not the opinion of alex. I am glad to see you active on here, there are awesome wonderful people on here who can be of help and encouragement to you. I was just getting a bit spread to thin.

As far as trusting people, take it all with a grain of salt. Actions speak louder then words. I might not have spoken to you in a while, but I have remembered you in prayer.

be blessed girl,

Alex

Hey Alex,

I tend to be a very happy-go-lucky kinda guy, and trust people until they give me reason not to. But I'm also not stupid - even when I know someone is flat-out lying to me, I usually just put up with it patiently - we're all human, we all have our faults, and I have'em too.

There's a difference between believing someone and trusting someone. People also make mistakes and miscommunications, so what may appear to be a lie is simply a mistake/miscommunication - Lord knows communication is my weak area.

Nevertheless, here in cyberspace, anybody can say anything they want, and it's difficult to know the better - so be careful, usually you can tell right quick if somethings not right.

it's a matter of how far you're willing to let yourself fall. and if you don't know, you may have to fall once or twice.
