Okay, here goes, my best attempt at making strangers I don't even know smile.

Well, picture this...

I walk into this bookstore and start a conversation with a man behind a bookshelf, just as I was browsing through the comic book section, go me.

Well, like something out of a Serendipity fairytale, the young man and I continue to talk, I had the feeling from here that he was indeed a store clerk.

Anyways, the man steps down from his ladder where he was placing books away, and when I next see him he's only 4'10.

Yes, a person of short stature! Because people who say "midget'' are completely mean.

I suppose what was upsetting about the whole situation is that whilst he was atop the ladder and I couldn't glance at his height, we had previously been discussing the height of some basketball players in the NBA.

Beautifully orchestrated irony or awkward comedy?!

You decide.

Am sure at first it took you aback. Bet it was somewhat strange to look down at the guy... I'm being serious here. Had to be awkward to be sure.

Could be comedy and tragedy in the same breath.

You cant depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus.

- Mark Twain

Reality is that part of the imagination we all agree on.
