Is correspondence here be considered as dating without being strict as to its more profound definition?
If it's a yes then me and my friend had unpleasant dating experiences on this site. I'm not making a generalization but based on my encounters, finding one's soul mate here is next to impossibility and sadly it is also true in searching for a spiritually mature guy.
Most of those who sent me messages hardly meet my expectations and i am always surprised with their off conduct. First messages containing marriage proposals simply do not showcase a well-thought and Spirit-led approach. Why would they wish to marry a stranger? and do they honestly expect to get a yes? I believe that God has no time table in confirming heaven-designed matches but i extremely doubt the correctness of proposing marriage by mere looking at one's profile. The treatment of marriage as some sort of commodity that can be easily availed, consumed and discarded if unfit breaks my heart. When Jesus was at work of the Father's business, there was no instance that He ran-- He always walked which demonstrates patience. Love is patient. It must not be hurried. From a song i've noted that the only time God ran was in the parable of the prodigal son, when the father met his prodigal son who returned home after squandering his portion of the former's wealth.
Not failing to mention those who are honest enough to air their sexual urges and consider marriage as an avenue for its satisfaction. Said inclination is natural but can be tamed if surrendered to God. I strongly believe that purity of the mind does not end on wedding days. Lust should never take over love in cherishing a spouse in bodily unions. While i forgave those who created said uneasy atmospheres, I don't want an ounce of it anymore and i will delete my account if it is necessary to completely get rid of it.
It could be true that being sensual is common and has more weight on guys, however, having Christ in their hearts would set them free from it. It would remain to be a constant struggle equally to both sexes but then again, proper discipline with the Lord's help, we would not be running after said temptations. We have to cooperate with Him.
Philippians 2:13
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things
Matthew 5:27-28
27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Proverbs 6:25
25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids. (still applicable though refers more to evil women)
1 Timothy 5
:1 Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father, younger men as brothers, 2 older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, with all purity.
God bless you all and let us pray for one another that we will not fall short of God's standards. Share love, God's love.
