Why is it some people think it is okay to wear revealing clothing on a christian site? For me I think you are advertising your body instead of your mind. A man that follows the word doesn't want a woman who is overly vain and overtly sexual, it is a turn off to me, how does everyone else feel about revealing clothing?

Cheers

1 Peter 3:3-4 - "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.

Strife Perpetual contradictions, either expressed by words, or working in the mind (for this strife may be in a man's heart James 3:14, 16). This is also an angry contention, any contest for advantage or superiority (not sports), a self seeking ambition in seeking to win followers.

louis007:

This is stirring up trouble in order to place yourself on top. This is trying to gain followers by falsehoods (lies), making them believe one thing when your purpose is really for your personal gain

Fly:

Isn't that what you are advocating?

louis007:

Are you a trutly Christian? Would you like someone saying this things to your sister, mother, aunts? Clothes doesn't matter, so many people out there wearing respectable clothing and yet with a such dirty and hateful hearts. Appearence means nothing, dude.

Fly:

No true scotsman fallacy. An appeal to pitty and a straw man argument. I suggest you read St. Thomas Aquinas. A catholic scholar that uses logic.

Like all such topics this one was about women only.Nothing has been said about men wearing clothing. From the beginning as I read the post it slowing moved into a woman bashing post.

That is hyprocritical.

Fly- everything I said was right on. if you do not address male clothing then you are in the wrong here.

Now we are waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dennis

PS. I expect the same said about male clothing as women's. I believe your intent was to bash women here.

Why wait, make your own thread or do you lack the intelligence to do so?

Another straw man argument. Who cares what you expect? Can you read? Are you able to stay on point? If you are not able to construct a reasonable argument without name calling and taunting people move on.

Fly, you should fly away from women's thing. Really, are you really a man for women?

Oh and by the way, all the BIBLE VERSES that I've posted, why are you making people confused putting other Bible verses in here? So are you trying to say that Bible contradict itself? You're using Bible verses in your own point of view, maybe you're blind or maybe you don't like women. Because your posts, dude, seems to be a contradiction of all the Bible verses that I've posted before. Really, are you not into women? Because all these offences to them means you are not.

Maybe he doesn't comment about shirtless men here because he likes it. :dancingp:

So, here is my two cents again...I guess that makes it my nickel. Well anyoldwho........

Attacking ideas is fair game. A rousing debate is a fabulous way to explore alternate ideas. However, attacking the other person is simply not nice. It is also not an optimal way to present your argument nor win others to your way of thinking.

What is it you wish to accomplish? Are your choices accomplishing that?

Over-all I still agree with Fly that women should dress modestly and have respect for themselves. Those who do otherwise are asking for trouble and will draw men who in the long run won't respect them at all.

Thanks Chevy.

And in response to the clothing, I still agree ladies should dress modestly. Although, modesty is also geographic in my humble opinion. What I wear to work will be quite different from the beach. While I once did flirt with the idea of putting a skirt on a skin suit (don't ask), I much prefer a plain old swimming suit and will NOT wear one of those wool dresses the women of yesteryear used to endure.

And as for the clothing, 90 to nothing the better the bait, the more you catch. The pics that make guys look and then initiate contact, well, enough said. Shrug, tis life. Then again, you catch the fish you bait the hook for. So, back to mixed blessings.
