:stop:Xenophobia is defined as the "hatred or fear of foreigners or strangers or of their politics or culture".[1] It comes from the Greek words ξένος (xenos), meaning "stranger," "foreigner" and φόβος (phobos), meaning "fear."

:stop:Xenophobia can manifest itself in many ways involving the relations and perceptions of an ingroup towards an outgroup, including a fear of losing identity, suspicion of its activities, aggression, and desire to eliminate its presence to secure a presumed purity.[3] Xenophobia can also be exhibited in the form of an "uncritical exaltation of another culture" in which a culture is ascribed "an unreal, stereotyped and exotic quality".

I'm just curious to know how many truly chritians are in this website... you know, I've enjoyed the "living chat" sometimes, and I am suprised to see so many xenophobic people there. Mostly won't talk to someone out of the USA, and when someone from another country try to say a simple "hi" people ignore the person. Why is that? Do people think they will start a relationhip if they say 'hi" back? This is rude, I'm just saying. This is NOT the way a truly Christian should behave.

:stop:43 You have heard that it was said, you shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. 44 But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous‎. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

(MATTHEW 5:43-48)

:stop:(Leviticus 19:33)"When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong."

:stop:"Foreigners living among you will be like your own people. Love them as you love yourself, because you were foreigners living in Egypt. I am the LORD your God." (Leviticus 19:34)

:stop:"Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it" (Hebrews 13:2)

ARE YOU A TRULY CHRISTIAN? SO STOP BEING HYPOCRITICAL AND ACT LIKE ONE.

@bornforyou: I will always have a special place in my heart for the Philippines. My great grandfather served in the constabulary forces over there and loved it. I even have the axe and machete from a headhunter he led to Christ hung up on my wall as a testament to what God can do. Please don't think I have something against Filipinos. If I were to meet one who I liked in real life, I would gladly date her.

That said, on this site, Filipinos are some of the most notorious scammers. Scammers are known to come from other countries too, but I have yet to be contacted by one. You would not think a woman dislikes a whole city if she avoids going into dark alleys alone by herself at night, would you? She is just being wise. Whether it is on live chat or messages, the likelihood of being scammed is incredibly high. Saying hi might not kill them, but they have to look out for themselves.

Really though, if someone doesn't want to talk to you, do you seriously want them to pretend they do for a few minutes just to make you feel better?

In the live chat, I've had the SAME experience...and I'm from good ol' Georgia, USA. The first few months I was on this site, I tried to participate in there, but IF someone stopped long enough to say Hi, that was all they said before they just moved right on with the current conversation. The only way I found to participate was to jump into the conversation and just give it a try. So I don't necessarily think that it has as much to do with your nationality as it does with the reality of chat rooms. And if you DO jump into the conversation, don't necessarily expect everyone to comment on every comment you make. That's not practical, and again, it's not how chat rooms work.

If you don't like the way you are treated in the live chat, you might try joining us here in the forums more often. We are nice here!

I have never gotten into the live chat rooms here.I was ignored the few times I tried. It is also hard to jump into an on going conversation.

The Chat forums are so much better for me.

Shawn, look what you've just said: "We understand you are talking about the live chat. What we are trying to explain is what is happening."

I don't see anyone else explaining this to me, only you, and yet you are generalizing things like you have about foreigners in the live chat! We are more than 6 BILLIONS in this world. how come you can generalize people like that? If you have had bad experience with one or other people, it doesn't mean we are ALL the same. Actually, even our finger prints aren't not the same thing! lol

You also say: "I would only prefer to speak to people that live closer to me."

Again, I'm NOT talking about dating or flirting conversation, but just being POLITE to say "good morning/evening/ night". Noone will force you get married, give money to them just because of a simple reply.

And about scammers, your question just prove you have close mind about this subject. Will someone come through the screen, and shot you or anything if you reply them? If the person ask you money, just say no, but it doesn't justify you not answering politely a simple "good morning' to someone. If you think not responding at all makes the situation less occur, I garantee it doesn't! It only makes the person looks rude and mannerless.

Now please, respond to me, if you don't want to talk to anybody who lives far away from you, how you say you are Christian? As far as I know, Jesus Christ wasn't born in America Continent. So I ask you, what if He enjoyed the live chat, wouldn't you not cumpliment Him?!

Hey Dgritmer & Bcpianogal, thanks for the tips, I've really tried to jump into conversations there, but I feel like I was a ghost there, some people unfortunatelyfeels happy making others feeling small, but that's only for awhile...

Anyway, thank you both!

girl_woman, I typed up a long reply, but I just erased it. I don't think you are really listening to what I am saying nor have you answered my questions.

But I will ask everyone elses opinion here. Please let me know what I have said that is so wrong. If everyone else thinks I have the completely wrong opinion, I will be glad to apologize.

Ok, I just did some quick counts. On "Winks" alone, not counting IM's or emails, (which I believe the ratio to be MUCH worse), since I have joined:

I have been winked at:

41 from Philipines

4 from Arica

5 from US

1 from Brazil

3 others

2 from now banned members

That is 51 times from outside the US and only 5 from in the US. That is a ratio of 10:1.

Maybe someone can explain to me why I am not very popular with US women but foreign women seem to really like my profile? I'm confused.

As a woman, I've put "within US" on my profile too. I was getting about half my hits from overseas. I'm not afraid of other cultures; however, I plan to stay within the US, so it's a bit misleading for me to start talking to a lot of people who live overseas. Also, I'm not interested in long-distance relationships. If I can't jump on a plane and see them within 6 hours or so, they are a little too far away for me to date. It's just a personal preference.

Yeah, I am sure you must be confused because those women surely are out of their minds... And if you are really bothered foreigners winking or sending you inbox messages, just change youe mail settings to only your country. But I guess a narcissistic nature won't let you doing this.

I'm confused too, why OLD MEN from USA keeps flirting me? I'm not here to talk to fossils, I'm not a museum, by the way.

Oh and just so you know, Puerto Rico may be owned by the U.S because U.S wants to dominate the entire world anyway, soon you people will want to own Russia, China, the rest of Mexico... But riches will be humbled by the Lord soon. It's easier a camel get through a needle than a rich go to heaven
