Why is it some people think it is okay to wear revealing clothing on a christian site? For me I think you are advertising your body instead of your mind. A man that follows the word doesn't want a woman who is overly vain and overtly sexual, it is a turn off to me, how does everyone else feel about revealing clothing?

This month I needed a new dress for some semi-formal events. The dresses I could find were cut so low, with such high hemlines, I thought the hemline and neckline were going to pass each other. One dress was so tight...well, my slips leave more to the imagination. I gave up trying and just sewed up something that met my standards.

OUTSTANDING!!!

Cheers

Actually I wish the men and women would both dress better! I have read other posts concerning dress that complained about men wearing no shirts for their pictures on this site, and I have seen women that didn't dress appropiately on this site. By dressing modestly it is a way to respect God, yourself, and others.

I agree. Women should dress appropriately and not provactively. A christian woman should not tempt her brother in christ. Besides showing your assets tells a man that you think everyone should see what you have. Why would you want a man who only wants you for your body? Or a man who can't look you in the eye. A man should be interested in your heart mind and soul. So show him the christian woman that you are.

Clothing doesnt make the person. Doesnt make them any less Christian. If what someone is wearing isnt for you then skip the profile. Have u seen the choices women have for clothing today? You either have to layer shirts (which u cant do in texas unless u want to die from a heat stroke) or you can dress like a little old lady. Just sayin..... Walk a mile in my shoes, errr boots, err high heels.

Uh wrong. The person chooses the clothing, and clothing is a reflection of values.

Why would a christian woman dress in such a manner as to resemble a prostitute? Surely youre not saying Chrisitian women think of themselves that poorly are you?

Really? How come youre not flashing your assets in your profile? Seems to me you value yourself and not just your body.

Fly:

I live in vegas, it's hotter and colder than texas is and I also lived in texas and what youre saying is nonsense. Many women dress sharp and elegant without a plunging neckline or their assets displayed like candy. Who dresses like that and why do they dress like that? Your bodies are only interesting for so long, it's your mind ladies that captivates the soul.

I would like to thank you Fly for this post because it is true

what you and some of the other's have said. First of all

Christians are not to conform to this world, and when someone dresses inappropriately, that's conforming. I have seen the choices of clothing out there, and it's allarming to say the least. I do not buy something that I know does not respect God, myself & others as Flatlander stated. There are cami's that can be placed under anything so that the cleavage is decent and nicely covered. When I go shopping I try on something if I think it is may be to short or not pleasing to God and if there is a question, I do not purchase it, it's that simple. The Holy Spirit will convict us if something is not quite right. No matter the age, above the knee is not appropriate. At the knee is modest-the word of God says--do all things in moderation.

Mr. Wiseguy says: They may be new in Christ and we may need to win them to Christ. Some are not in Christ. Some are not taught, and some do not desire teaching.

Fly is not attacking anyone, he is merely giving insight & wisdom in a matter that is out of control.

Miriah62-I love what you said about dressing like a lady and that a man should be interested in your heart, mind & soul.

I do not dress old, but Godly, Elegant and Classy. I do not need to wear dresses down to my knees nor turtle neck shirts at all times. I feel that it depends on where we shop, and I do know that many of the styles out there are not

to be worn by a True Woman of God!

Fly, I love what you said: Many women dress sharp and elegant without a plunging neckline or their assets displayed like candy. Who dresses like that and why do they dress like that? Your bodies are only interesting for so long, it's your mind ladies that captivates the soul. Absolutely "Prize winning" statements.

Okay, I'm going to step out deeper into the water on the subject now. This for both men and ladies. Our particular church we wear long sleeves as men and women as we feel this honors God. It is our way of giving Him respect and showing that we are different from the world. I am a local contractor in Kansas and I work outside sometimes and in the summer it clears a 100 degrees sometimes and can be very humid. I wear a long sleeve shirt then also, but one of non heavy material, light weight. The women sometimes buy dresses or they make their own and they still look nice. You can still look attractive without wearing the same styles that are promoted in the world. Also, stepping out farther still, does anybody remember what the men and women dressed like before the 'Roaring Twenties" and may I dare say it was just as hot then, and no airconditioning, etc.
