Guys and girls do you mind having to eat alone at a restaurant?

Is it too awkward for you? Or you don`t mind? Do you trry to avoid it?

Define "restaurant". lol

If it's a fast food place, I don't mind eating there alone. Not really my idea of "fun", but it's not awkward or anything. I'd just be one of many people who are there alone, and I could always read a book, newspaper, or magazine while I was eating without seeming rude.

If it is a nice restaurant, as in a "sit down and be waited on" place, I would avoid eating there alone. Even a nice buffet restaurant would be a place I'd avoid by myself. It would be awkward, lonely, and I wouldn't enjoy it.

I treat myself to a nice dinner out on a regular basis. I'm not going to live in seclusion or deprive myself of the niceties in life because I don't have someone to share with. I would prefer to share a meal with someone else, but that don't keep at home, especially if I would be eating there alone.

Just bring a nice leather portfolio with you and one of those nice pens. Then take notes in it about the restaurant and the food. When the waiter asks you what you think of the food, tell him that he can read your review in the Times that upcoming week. They'll think you're a famous food critic, and maybe even comp your meal...

I treat myself out on a regular basis. I enjoy eating out and I will usually pick at day and time it is less busy, if I am going alone.

I do not stop going or doing anything just because I am alone.

Often times, I go with a girlfriend from Church and sometimes, I go with a man friend here I have known for

years. We are just friends.

I have no problem eating alone. But more often then not the Lord sends people into my life while I am dinning. For example I go to Mcdonald's frequently. Within a week of my first visit to anew store I now have made several new friends with whom I now speak to on a regular basis. We are to be salt and light FOLKS , therefore be salt and light -do not get all caught up in your aloneness. Besides we are in the presence of the Lord so how can you possibly be alone?

Stop being that way. A Christian woman as beautiful as you MUST be seen and experienced. Please consider the following scripture:

Matthew 5:14-16

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. "

Am I understanding correctly that some of you would never go out to eat at a "nice" restaurant if you didn't go alone?

I never go alone, but I eat out fairly frequently. If I'm not with my family, I'm with coworkers or friends. It is not at ALL unusual for someone in my Sunday School class to announce "I'm going to Chili's...who wants to come?" We're all single, and none of us likes to spend our Sunday lunch alone, so it's a great solution for all of us!

I agree with what bc originally said. I don't mind going to a fast food place alone, but I don't like going to a nice restaurant alone. It would feel weird just sitting there all alone waiting for my food.
