Being Unsaved

Would someone please tell me what it is like to be unsaved? I have been saved and filled with the Holy Spirit since I was in preschool as a young child. I keep meeting people who seem to have a tremendous mind shift and a profound sense of change when they become saved. But I have never known what it was / is like to be unsaved. It seems that there is a profound and deep sense of loneliness and emptiness. Can someone please tell me what it really is like? It sounds like a horrible feeling. It must be awful.

Good question!

Before I was saved I felt empty. Eventually, I didn't want to live, because I didn't understand why I was here, why I had to go through so much. Although ppl were around, I felt lonely.

I was going through so much, and I didn't know the Lord loved me. Didn't know He cared. I guess the best way to describe being unsaved (to a lot of ppl that I've talked to)is....SURVIVAL.

That "I have to do everything on my own. I depend on myself" mentality. That's a lot of weight for one to carry.

But oh, to be saved by the Lord Jesus Christ, whew! Nothing like it! It has been beautiful. Now Jesus carries the load. Oh, to be saved! Instead of just surviving, I have FREEDOM!

EXCELLENT QUESTION
