perception differences between men and women

I have talked to several women on this and other dating sites that encounter a similar phenomenon that is perplexing. Especially for us in the "over 45" age bracket - there seems to be a number of men who write lengthy "wish lists" about their prospective dates. Of course, they generally are painting a picture of something close to a Victoria Secret model. Then - you look at their pictures and they just look like regular old guys - most balding with beer bellies and not looking quite like the type a VS model would go for. I guess it is just a by product of the culture we live in? Women are held to an incredibly high standard when it comes to physical appearance. It almost seems like most men are over-confident about their looks, while women post younger pictures or something because they feel they don't measure up. What do you think that is all about and how does our faith play into this issue?

Bythec,

I totally get what you're talking about here! My pictures are from last month, but I get views, winks, and messages from these same guys who've let themselves go and assume I'll fawn all over them as if I don't have standards.

LOL!

Guess that's the way guys are, huh?
