Wisdom of Life

Jimmy wanted to sing in the choir, but he could not read nor learn the songs. He would ask the pastor if he could pray aloud in the services, but poor Jimmys mind could not even put a few words together for he was mentally challenged. One day he heard the pastor talking about Andrew, and how in the Bible he was always bringing someone to Jesus to be saved. Jimmys mind caught that. He could do that!
He began to bring boys and girls, and with a big grin would say, Pastor, they want to be saved. In one year he brought twenty-five boys and girls to the pastor who led them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Jimmy may not impress many people in this life with his intelligence, his looks, or even his vocabulary; but the Bible tells us that Jimmy is wise! Jimmy is WISE!
According to statistics it takes one thousand Christians one year to win one soul to the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. In the light of this, yes, Jimmy is VERY WISE.
In the light of Jimmy, we have no excuse not to be witnesses through personal evangelism, win souls, and be wise in the eyes of the Lord. If we do, then someday we will hear the words, Well done, thou good and faithful servant, when we stand before our Lord.
In Proverbs, the writer associates the winning of souls as a tree of life and it is this principle by which God gathers His fruit. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and the latter rain (James 5.7). This fruit of men and womens souls are like a tree of life and they that participate in its cultivation and harvest are those that have discovered a shaping force in their lives -- which is wisdom of life.
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. (Proverbs 11.30)
