Here are a couple of my poems - hope someone finds them uplifting.

Janet (AngelJan)

FLEETING

The scarlet and gold of October

Race headlong to November brown.

Time melts the colors to ochre

As bare bones of trees dot the town.

Thanksgiving flies past our window

And etches our lives with its frost;

December arrives on our doorstep

Ere we even know Autumn is lost.

I think, as I watch from my minds eye

All the leaves from the tree of my life,

How theyve flown by with so little notice,

Though careworn and riddled with strife.

But the colors, ah, how rich the colors -

So vivid, so brilliant and bright.

The tatters and tears go unnoticed;

Their essence is captured in light,

And I catch my breath as I wonder

At the scarlets and golds still in sight!

BECOMING

Struggling.

As new-green shoot

Pushes its way free

Into sunlight and

Raw world,

So do we.

Budding.

Primeval pain and

Wrestle of birth-strife

Thrust us forth

Into unknown

Earth-life.

Reaching.

We labor, seeking

To endure stress

And growth-throes

Of unaccustomed

Physicalness.

Blooming.

Stretch of enlightenment;

Slowly at first,

Then, with confidence,

Conquering,

We burst.

Pruning.

Steep climb homeward.

Death into life, goal

And growth become,

At last,

A complete soul.

- Janet

God bless us all.

Hi,

I've been waiting for others to add their poems, or poems from others that have touched their lives, or uplifting stories to share - none so far so here's one more of mine, plua another I like by another poet.

Janet

KINDRED SOULS

Fresh and new, our kindred souls

Bubbled oer in sheer delight,

Ventured shyly from our bowl

And glided forth on wings of light.

Long wed played on morns of song

Content to stay in beauty bright,

But now, we separate lept along

No longer gatherd in circle tight.

Each alone, each on our own,

We left warm knowing, each to go,

Adventure lay before, unknown.

Open to risk, explore, and grow,

Until at last, complete and whole

We gathered back, in crystal shone.

Rejoined together, kindred souls,

Our journeys oer, our pathway known.

And I and you, and each of us

Alone to learn, had caught the Truth

That each had found for joy, we must

At last be rejoined back, forsooth,

Together twined in bonds of love,

Returned from crystal bowl we pour

And back again. No more to rove,

Kindreds whole for evermore.

In a Garden After Rain

I walked through an old garden after rain,

Where buds and boughs and fresh-drenched earth all seethed

With eagerness to drink new life again,

And grow in fullest beauty as they breathed

The cool, life-giving, scented evening air

While cloud-draped sun still lingered in the west;

I neighbored with young, growing things out there -

Found power that soothed the senses and brought rest.

There is a power still sweeter, more desired,

You hold for me, and if I might demand,

Id ask to see your face - when sad or tired,

To talk with you and reach and touch your hand -

Feel joy renewed, soul cleansed, heart freed from pain;

Life blessed . . . as in a garden after rain.

ENJOY, everyone! More soon - Janet

A Real Sweetheart

If you were sweet like white sugar refined,

And mixed with artificial frosting on cake,

You surely would not be the goodly kind,

Though pretty and sweet youd be a fake.

On the other hand, you are the real thing,

Someone to stick with, like golden honey.

A real sweetheart with the scent of spring,

And a bright countenance that is sunny.

The heart of the matter is that you matter,

Your worth is truly worth talking about.

You are too special to be battered in batter.

You might go good with herb tea, no doubt.

From the wild flower comes your good taste,

And by the bees that be, brought such a savor,

With a richness that should not go to waste,

Nor be neglected, for there is no finer flavor.

Above all, the Lord of Hosts gets the glory,

For all of the beauty thats in His creation.

We are a part of His never-ending story,

And we know this by divine revelation.

An Apple A Day

An apple a day keeps the doctor away,

But, that is only if they are organically grown.

They have been known to keep illness at bay,

But you cannot be healthy on apples alone.

We all need a well-rounded daily diet,

With all of the food groups included.

When faced with a dessert, just deny it,

If you dont want to become too extruded.

You may say, But, why not apples in pie?

In your attempt to work out a compromise.

You might say, I must have it, do or die,

But, it might bring about an untimely demise.

I know that we need some pleasure in life,

Like savoring sweets and things forbidden,

But, I try to keep from going under the knife,

Or, all too soon, become sick and bed ridden.

But, on the other hand, God gave us honey,

Come to think of it, that is really sweet.

What about cinnamon? Isnt that funny?

Oh, hey! How about water and wheat?

Apple pie might not be so bad after all,

As long as you eat it with moderation.

Eve could have made one after the fall,

Being her first creation after the creation.

Rather than in pie, the apple is better raw,

With the enzymes and vitamins in tack.

It was good enough for my dear grandma,

And by far, much better than a Big Mac.
