I love it when journalist try to make statistics surprising. The latest study on poverty has come out, and the group that put the statistics together tried to play up the fact that so many more people are poor in the US. One of the ways they did that was by adding in expenses that were never considered before, such as healthcare. It was fairly obvious that the group putting this study together were trying to promote the idea that government needed to save us.

I really dont mind that, they can put out all the statistics they want. My favorite part though was the statistic that the poverty rate for those on public health insurance was 31.1 percent, and the poverty rate for those who had insurance through their employer was 7.2 percent. Well, lets see, the most likely reason why you are on public health insurance is that you dont have a job. Hmm, if you have a job you are way less likely to be poor than if you have a job. Who would have ever thought that?!

The best way to improve peoples lives is not to create a bunch of government programs, its to get out of the way and let the people create jobs. Did God try to create the perfect nation by setting up a complicated government system in Israel? No, he was upset when his people refused to accept Gods rule and wanted a king instead.

what most people DON"T realize is that there is no real "goverment healthcare"

Medicaid is only for women as long as the youngest child is in public school. (college don't count)

It's for children until they are finshed public school.

Then it is for Certified By The Goverment Disabled ONLY!!

If it were not for the wonderful free clinic I'd be outta luck!!!

as it is my teeth are getting bad cause I don't have medicaid anymore.

We need to fix it somehow.
