I do. It's great. Yes I know about the Paganistic roots but that comes from nearly everywhere. Christmas was orginally Yule, another Pagan holiday.

It wasn't evil. They dressed up to ward off evil spirits. Then it became a custom and I still haven't figured out where the candy comes in.

Go ahead and accuse me of blasphemy. I was very shocked to be accused of it on Holloween when I dressed like a clown.

For me Halloween is just dressing up to get candy and have a good time. Quite an enjoyable Holiday.

Joy 2 the World:

I use to be very critical of people who celebrate the pagan holidays. Now I am very gracious to people who have a different opinion. We are in the world and not of it. The initial celebration of All Souls Day came from the Christians and some how over the years it morphed into a pagan celebration. I think we can still have a variation of the day without the devilish costumes and get candy from people as long as we don't embrace the world's idea of fun.

no celebrating halloween isn;t a Christian thing it's pagan

Speaking of holidays.....lets talk about Christmas.

In the book of Jeremiah there is mention about pagan putting up a tree with nails and putting gold and silver around it.

So the tree we know is a pagan thing...and on the other hand....

Lets just call it happy x=me$$. I would rather be in Jesus arms the santas claws.

Also Christ never mention that we should talk a day to celebrate his crucifixion or his resurrection. We as Christians should do that EVERY DAY.

One last thing to think about.

We have easter and kids go EGG hunting......the 9 months later BAM the child is born and its December.

So here we have egg "Easter" then Mother gives birth to the son 9 months later,.......UMMMMM IS THAT NOT PAGANish to anyone else.

Just something to think about ;)

one love is Jesus

I celebrate most American holidays. I don't celebrate Easter or Christmas, but I attend mass. I think they are blasphemous. Gifts, food, decorations with pagan symbols... it makes me sick to my stomach when I see the insane consumption for these holy days. I don't celebrate Thanksgiving. I think its racist, and I'm not very fond of the food that comes with it, mainly pork and turkey. And though I feel its very demoralizing what this country has done to it, I celebrate my own St. Patricks Day. Labor Day, Memorial, the 4th, D.C. does it right. Halloween is what you make of it. Every year, I wear the sports jersey of a famous sports figure as a costume, and yet not many people "get it". I don't know about you, but to me, there's nothing scarier than someone who doesn't get the joke...

My b, yo. I missed LRNBs comment. Evergreen trees are a pagan symbol for immortality. The eggs and rabbit are a symbol of immortality. St Patrick is celebrated for "driving the snakes out of Ireland" when in fact, its symbolic for the pagans. And he didn't drive them. In almost machiavellian way, he brought a palpabal substitute in order to make the religious transition easier. Its brilliant missionary work. America bought it up, hook, line, and sinker. Its perfect for marketing products. And before I forget, if I do find "the one" for me, she won't need some silly holiday like valentines day to know how much she means to me.
