They say: 'if it bleeds, it leads'

If there’s violence, conflict or death involved, it gets top billing. Nowhere is this more true than in television news, which coined the expression, “If it bleeds, it leads.”



The revenue generators are the commercials. The programs that people tune in to watch cost money to produce but generally money needs to be spent in order to make more money. Think of it like this, why do people paint the house right before they put the house up for sell? Its a marketing technique thats why! People are drawn to shiny objects, and the t.v. programs/news programs are the 'flash in the pan'. If a television show/news program is popular, then the show will act like a magnet and it will attract high paying commercials (because the commercial companies prefer to buy air time when a lot of people are watching t.v.)



The plain truth is that human beings are degenerates (Romans 3:10-12). Do not think that you are basicly a decent person, because if GOD The HOLY SPIRIT has not regenerated your mind...then you are motivated by one thing and that is seeing 'risky stuff'. So most people are drawn to listening to news reports that talk about bloodshed, violence, tragdy, carnage and loss.



The liberal media have become experts when it comes to making a mountain out of a molehill. And many people love it, in fact some people are almost addicted to it. The answer is not to petition the news companies to stop making a paper-cut sound like a 'deep laceration that required medical care'...the answer is that people need to yeild themselves to the transformative work of GOD The HOLY SPIRIT! This is how we spot fake news...its called Wisdom and Discernment.



Here is your homework: Read one chapter of the Biblical Book of Proverbs, every day of the month...and next month repeat, then repeat and repeat....ad nauseam!
