Petitions to Include Third Party Candidates in the Upcoming Presidential Debates

Back in 2000 Trump said that it is disgraceful that third party candidates are left out of debates. He should put his money where his mouth is and include the other presidential candidates in the upcoming debate.

Here is a petition to include Jo Jorgensen in the debate. She will be on the ballot in all 50 states. She should be included.

And, because fair is fair. Here is the petition for Howie Hawkins. He will be on the ballot in 31 states.

Does that mean that you think that Trump should be the only one in the debate? No Biden, either?

i don't think there will be any debates. time is getting short. Biden couldnt walk off a plane in a steady manner the other day for a "town hall" there were only 6 people there each sitting in a folding chair which was in a white painted circle. if he is so afraid of people with virus, how can he face a moderator and other debaters?

The first debate is schedule for the September 29th. Then, there will be three more, with the last being scheduled for October 22nd. Presidential debates are generally done late September-October.

Ivy, are you aware both candidates you’re promoting (Jo Jorgensen and Howie Hawkins) believe it’s ok, to kill by abortion, a developing person who is yet too young to be born?

Killing unborn children by abortion is sometimes slow and sadistic and almost always results in death.

Maybe l shouldn’t have said you’re “promoting” them, perhaps you believe they should just be allowed on the ballot ?

Like I said Jorgensen is already on the ballot in 50 states and Hawkins is on the ballot in 31 states. That's not the issue. The issue is that they should be in the debates. If people are going to vote them, which they will, they should be informed about them. That's what the debates are for. To inform people about where candidates stand on issues.

Earlier you said: “Back in 2000 Trump said that it is disgraceful that third party candidates are left out of debates. He should put his money where his mouth is and include the other presidential candidates in the upcoming debate.”

You're not correct.

Trump doesn’t get to decide if third-party candidates participate in the debates.

That responsibility rests with the The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD). The CPD has run all of the presidential debates held since 1988.

The commission has been criticized for its exclusion of third-party candidates from debates in other presidential contests. Decisions to exclude usually end with eruptions of litigation, fireworks and controversy but until something changes, life goes on

Yes, I know that. But, I don't think that means there is nothing that he could do. At the very least, he could tweet about it on twitter.

Yes, I’m sure he could.

There’s so much going into the political mix concerning this decision or that. He may have weighed in already on that like last time but the media doesn't like reporting things that are favorable to Trump

If I want to hear the full story containing anything positive about Trump, I’m forced to get it from video clips and quotes from alternative news sources like NewsMax, EPOCH or Rush Limbaugh and others!!

I also think it would be to Trump’s advantage to have third-party candidates on the ballot especially those left of center competing for Biden votes.

In addition to that, it seems that more pro-abortion candidates on the ballot would likely siphon votes from pro-abortion Biden rather than Trump who is pro-life.
