Covid-19Posted : 8 Jul, 2020 02:31 PMI'm not sure there is such a thing as "handling" the COVID situation. We have dozens of mayors and governors across the country and leaders across the world who haven't done much better than President Trump at controlling the spread of this thing. We may just have to ride this out as best we can. Herd immunity may be our best hope, and if we look to a vaccine to fix this, that's in the hands of medical researchers, not elected officials. |

Covid-19Posted : 8 Jul, 2020 04:37 PMTrump seems to be getting the blame for it ! Trump wants to open up things even schools. Many people are concerned and not in agreement. |

Covid-19Posted : 8 Jul, 2020 06:13 PMThat's concerning, that the president might, through the threat of withdrawing funding, coerce schools to reopen, regardless of whether it isin the best interests of the American people or not. |

Covid-19Posted : 12 Jul, 2020 04:01 PMWhile I think it's important for children to get their educations, I will say that I think the country should wait until a vaccine is out. Apparently there is a vaccine (at least that's what I've heard), but it won't be out until next year. But I do also think there is a way to work around this. Instead of opening up school for all of the children maybe they could do it for a the children who are old enough to follow the rules, while the really young kids, especially kindergarten kids, continues getting their educations from home online. Yes, the schools may make it a requirement to wear a mask, but a lot of little kids like that is not going to leave those masks on and they are not going to social distance no matter how many times you may tell them. The more you tell them not to do something, the more they want to do the exact opposite. And for those unable to follow those rules, but are older they should also stay home and get their educations online. I know there's a lot of families out there who doesn't have internet and can't afford internet, but I believe that whoever your local internet providers are, they should let parents who have very young kids (maybe K through 6) the providers should let them have free internet, at least until this virus is gone. |
