Most manufacturing companies and machine shops are closed up as they are not essential. Ohio is an "at will" state which means you can be let go, fired, laid off, furlough, what ever you want to call it for any reason or no reason at all and there is nothing you can do about it. Many companies have already said they are going to take this time to not call back the older employees who have worked with a company 10, 15, 20 years or more as they can hire young people right out of high school or college for half of what the older folks are making if not less then half. Of coarse this happens everyday around here. Their too old and make too much money. Of coarse they don't tell you that. They will make up some other reason then hire a young person to take your position within a week. But now with this coronavirus it has given all the companies a chance to do it without the mess. They just don't have to call them back ever. Sad but a fact. Its the world we live in today. Post Reply

Older people need to make a living just like younger adults. If one lives long enough everyone gets Older. Unfortunately, things like this happens. Post Reply
