In the 1800's, it was the liberals who preached a social gospel. Now the conservatives are doing the same thing. Both are equally WRONG. God is not Conservative or Liberal, Democrat or Republican. Charles Hodge wrote the following in his commentary on II Corinthians 4:5 IN 1859. Nothing new under the sun! "To make the end of preaching the inculcation of virtue, to render men honest, sober, benevolent and faithful, is part and parcel of that wisdom of the world that is foolishness with God. It is attempting to raise fruit without trees. When a man is brought to recognize Jesus Christ as Lord, and to love and worship him as such, then he becomes like Christ. They forced roger williams and Anne hutchinson into the wilderness.” I think you are committing the same kind of fallacious chronological snobbery the Pharisees committed when they denied culpability with their fathers who killed the prophets. We don’t know what we would do if we were born and raised in that era. All we can do is look back and claim we would never do such horrendous things—that’s what chronological snobbery is about. Besides that, Roger Williams, Anne Hutchinson and the Quakers were egregious false teachers. You don’t know what you would have done if you had lived at that time. You don’t know who you might have sided with unless of course you agree with Anne, Roger or the Quakers. What’s the difference between crimes committed back then and you coming on the forums today insinuating what others might be like or are like. Post Reply

Posted : 9 Oct, 2022 07:15 AM Ohio, is it ok when a “Christian” votes for politicians who create and support laws that keep the killing of unborn or born babies legal and who also make laws that make various sexual sins legal even though the Bible condemns these sins?
