sorry, but I don't like the US Military or any other army of the world!
I don't understand why people find being payed to kill other human being something to be proud of or heroic!
And why it's only the poor who send their son to the military? to secure a good job? since you need to be proud of that, have you ever seen a rich man send his son to go to service?!
Are you proud to see children killed in Iraq and Afghanistan? call me unpatriotic, stupid peace activist, dreamer...but I hope one day to tell my children how I made something positive to the world rather than how many people I killed... :angel:

As others have stated, their are evil men and women who wants complete power, such as Hitler or the Taliban. And the presence of the military is not a matter of trying to control others but a matter of protecting the world from evil. What you don't realize is that the media exploits the military by harping only on stories that make the military look bad. Rarely do you see stories of soldiers holding little children in hospitals who were severely burned by their own countrymen, all in the name of religion. Nor of stories where soldiers visit orphanages to bring presents to those who would otherwise never have anything. The men and women in the military do more than just kill, they actually provide services most people are not aware of, because they simply do not take the time to hear.
The US has not had the most perfect record on foreign policy. But, there is no comparison to what Europe has done since the collapse of the Roman empire. Ever since they split off from the Byzantine empire they have done nothing but fight each other for over 1500 years. It was World War II that put an end to the constant wars in Europe, and what country was the lynch pin, the major reason for the defeat of the Axis powers? The US. And the ironic part is that the US had to be dragged into the war, they sat on the sidelines because they weren�t being bothered by it until Pearl Harbor. Don�t forget, they defeated the Germans from your country from WWII.
Are there tragedies during a war? Most certainly. Is the US free from such tragedies? No. But the major difference is that these tragedies are not done as a policy of either the government, or the military, but are caused by �the fog of war� or by rouge soldiers acting on their own.
Chakal�s attitude simply comes from envy. There are always people who hate whomever is the strongest, no matter how hard you try to please them.
Except for ending slavery, Nazism, and Fascism, war never solved anything.
I am going to add something different here. God approved of what David did to Golith. David then chopped off Golith's head and showed it to everybody. Israel won a great battle that day.
what of The Red Sea won by the great move of God wipeing out Pharoh's army. If god was not sometimes a God of war the bad guys would get their way.
I have been to Europe and many of them do not like us. it did change my views.Maybe George Washington had a point.

As for our troops I always support them.I the beginning I supported the war in the middle east.Since our leadership had no plan to get out I am wondering how do we close the war???? You are always to have a plan to end it.That is the fault of Congress and the White House.
Our troops need our support and prayers.It is not the fault of the miltary for poor politics. The troops are doing good things.A service to their country.
I feel Washington was wise beyond our real understanding.

Secondly, you don't join the military to kill people, you join to protect your country. You should be so incredibly thankful that there are people willing to do this for YOU.

I can understand why others in the world don't like the US military...they take care of business. We put our lives on the line not only for our country but also for those who can't defend themselves against tyrants and terrorists.
I have served with people from all backgrounds, rich and poor, every race, many who came to the US from other countries to find freedom.
When one criticizes the US military, they are criticizing themselves because they're countrymen have fled to the US and have chosen to serve alongside those of us who were born in the US.
Until the end of the millenial reign of Christ (after the Great Tribulation) there will be wars and rumors of war...and the US military will be there defending freedom.
BTW I'm pretty sure the US military provides more humanitarian aide than any other military in the world. We even relabel items that were delivered by the US to a generic label because many countries refuse the help just because it's from the US. They would prefer to continue the myth that the US is an evil country wanting to destroy them.

It would be wonderful if mankind did not have to raise their arms in battle for whatever reason. But, because of sin coming into the world and the presence of many who will not or can not defend themselves...somebody has to do it! If you found yourself or your family in mortal danger � would you try to defend them?

Iraqi people needed help...Afghanistan... ? Are we going about it in the right way? Very debatable, but you sir are so way off base attacking our men and women in the Military. Your air force base was built by our Military.
It was a military that finally shooed away Barbary Pirates that were using your sea port as a base to launch attacks on shipping.
You can not have it both way. You can not be thankful for your Liberties (due to someone dying for you) and also ATTACK (very militaristicly...) the same people that were willing to Die for you!!

My word of advice to you is this: If you have a problem with something, email the military commander in chief! His name is Barak Obama, and he lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. I get where you're coming from, but the army kids just got themselves a job. If you're going to attack the things that people do "under orders" it makes the most sense to talk to the man who issues those orders. Please, if there is anything I can do to ease your pain let me know! I hope you can see past the uniform and skin someday, but Americans are JUST PEOPLE like everyone else we make mistakes, and the many are getting blamed for the choices made by a select few men in high positions of power. What atrocities have you whitnessed in these places? I can say that I personally handed food to the citizens of Iraq. I can say that I talked with many many people there, respectully.
I cannot speak for all members of the military, but your statement is as ignorant Americas view of Christ.
