Admin	Worldviews Posted : 23 Jul, 2016 04:27 PM There are three major worldviews in operation today: Atheism, Pantheism, and Theism. Within each is a broad spectrum of beliefs. Here are the basic, logical conclusions of each regarding morality. Atheism believe that the only thing that exists is the time, space, and matter universe. There are no supernatural entities. Everything that happens is a logical effect of a pre-existing cause, going all the way to the first cause. Atheists have no explanation for the first cause. There can be no morality, because we are only material beings. We simply act according to that which has occurred to us beforehand according to the cause-effect paradigm. We have no free will. Everything is relegated to the cause-effect paradigm. Atheists will argue this point, but logically, it stands. Pantheists believe that everything is god. Everything that exists is part of the one. Our individual personalities are simply aberrations of the true nature of the one. Again, there can be no morality, no right and wrong. Everything simply is. Theists believe there is a singular, personal God. Theists consists of Muslims, Jews, and Christians. Theists believe that there is an external morality passed down to mankind via written words. Jews and Christians are unique in that they believe God also communicates with His mankind via His Holy Spirit. Christians are alone in believing that the Holy Spirit of God is given to all for guidance and direction in their lives. Post Reply
Marcouse View Profile History	Worldviews Posted : 27 Feb, 2017 04:12 PM You forgot the heliocentric and geocentric world views. Heliocentric view sees the sun as the centre of the galaxy and we are one of many random stars in the universe that contain life orbiting a sun which essentially provides the energy for life. Geocentric assumes we are the centre of the universe, the sun and moon are much smaller and closer than in contemporary science and rotate around the surface of the earth under the firmament. Geocentrism says there are no aliens, space travel isn't possible and there had to be a creator. Astronauts are nothing more than actors and NASA is a fraudulent organisation that embezzled billions in tax dollars to a gullible population. Mainstream religion may have it's head buried in the sand but these two world views are the ones that matter the most at the moment to those in the know. Post Reply

LittleDavid View Profile History	Worldviews Posted : 12 Feb, 2019 02:34 PM I can distill the number of worldviews down even further. Basically there’s only two groups. The first group consists of ALL religions and philosophies which embrace the concept that inherent “goodness” resides within the will or heart of man. In other words, most world beliefs hold that humankind is either basically “good” in and of themselves or that humankind can make themselves “good”. I realize the application of the term “good” is slightly ambiguous here. But I think it’s applicable here given the ambiguity of the term in a universal sense. My intention, at least in this post, argues against the legitimacy concering the theory of inherent goodness residing in the heart of humankind given the fact that all members of humankind do evil things. Hope that helps clarify. Ok, now for the second group. The only other group is the one taught by Jesus found in the Bible. The Bible says there is no such thing as a truly good person, except One. Worse yet, no human can even make themselves good or good enough to be accepted by God. Post Reply
