We meet between the pixels and digits

Candle light and music replaced by

The computers glow and hum

We catch glimpses of each other

Through words an phrases

Is this the real person

Or is there someone elsbe behind the cyber curtain

Just like in the Wizard of Oz

Some strange world that doens not seem to touch reality

Some tower of promise standing in the distance

promising companionship, love, happiness and acceptance

The medium is different but the wants are timeless

Driven by the same urges placed in the garden

At the beginning of time by God

Woman came out of man, and man comes from woman

A thousand years ago gatherings around a fire to connect

Today connections through emails and chats

And a thousand years from now connections between galaxies perhaps

All very different but very much the same

The need to return to the Garden

The need to find the mate that makes your heart sing

The need to fill the missing pieces

It is a timlelss damce and will go on as God always intended

and yes this is original to me....and I have the rights to publish

I put up a thread on establishing a section for writers to LINK. A similar forum area would be good perhaps for photographers, artists, etc.

You post was well-written. What else do you write? Are you happy to be published on-line? Or do you, like me, still learn to be found in a book or magazine?

Another issue with regard to connecting with others:

I got a wink from someone, but I can't contact them back because they have in their limiting criteria either an AGE RANGE that Excludes me, or they say "Must not drink."

Well, I don't drink in the sense that many of my unsaved co-workers drink. I have NEVER been drunk. I have an occasional glass of wine, but I guess, in my mind I am still NOT a "drinker."

SO, if people here want to contact someone and converse, then they must be careful about the specifications that they have in force with regard to who may or may not contact them.

How's this:

She sat in the dark...the only light coming from across the street and entering her room as tiny beams of light through slits caused by her cat Leo's scratching away at the aluminum foil which covered every window in her apartment. The only sound the "tap...tap...tapping" of her keyboard as she answered questions in the chatroom she was in.

SweetBreadofLife was her screename and the photos were that of a young (29 years old) girl that Sally had gotten off the internet (she reminded her of a yoiung Sally Fields).

The other noise that could be heard was the wheezing ahe made when she breathed...almost a whistling.

"Warmglow343...you jerk!" Sally whistled!

She had stopped taking her meds a week ago and it was showing in her behavior.

"Warmglow...you're so funny" she hit send. "What a jerk" she thought.

Leo came and looked at the screen and then gave her a look.

Sally suddenly stood up straight and flayed at the air

"Begone...Begone I tell you. In the Name of Jesus...BeGONE!!"

The demons were coming at an increased pace since she quit taking her meds. Sally was a 58 year old Bi-polar male named Joseph. Leo was also a figment of his imagination. Joseph was on 23 people's Favorite's List. Go figure?

He Waits

I thank Him for His comfort

And being a prayer away

I thank him for waking me up

To experience another day

I thank him for the Breath of Life

That He so freely shares

Amazing how He waits for me

While I consume His Air

Full of Love and patient

To seek His face in prayer

I thank Him for His dominion

And concerns about my goals

His protection from the Evil one

Whos trying to reap my soul

What Amazing God we have

That calls us His very own

He sacrificed His Only Son

That He can share with us His Home

Refined

If satan at will could destroy me

He would have done it so long ago

Thwarting the will of God

That kind of power isnt so

But he can get me to hate my brother

By putting dissention in the air

Make the love I have grow very cold

To the point I do not care

Then the gold heart Im supposed to have

Gets contaminated with an alloy called sin

Make that golden heart of mine

Become hard as steel or tin

With a little forgiveness that Ill call flux

Heaped in when tested by the fire

Brings to the surface all the junk

The Good Lord doesnt desire

Refining the ill intentions in my heart

The things that I should know

So He can skim off the impurities

Leaving my heart soft and pure as gold

That's a great poem...it reminded me of a church sign I saw just yesterday...

If you give Satan and inch, he will be your ruler.

God bless, Hischosen
