SCAMMERS - GOOD TIPS TO QUICKLY IDENTIFY

CDFF does do a good job of getting them removed. When I report one - although I almost never have proof - they are usually gone within 24 hours. Believe it or not, that usually amounts to probably 3 to 5 per week. So I am afraid - a lot more than "one or two slip in every now & then."

Lately I have been getting emails from women - whom you can tell are men who have had operations. Yuck! How disgusting (Different kind of scammers usually)

I feel sorry for them, but I hate thieves and have zero game for that. Often times they do not even write me. I can tell just by reading their profiles that they are scammers in a lot of cases.

SOME TIPS:

Most of them are from overseas

Many times it's easy - like when they say they are from Ontario, California:laugh: or they mispell key words in their profile. They also tend to not capitiolize "I" and will write "i".

HOW DO YOU KNOW FOR SURE?

Besides them telling you that they are madly in love with you after about one to three emails - THEY WILL "NEVER" GIVE YOU THEIR PHONE NUMBER. MY EXPERIENCE IS "NEVER"!!! ...( THAT'S JUST MY EXPERIENCE - I'M SURE SOME SCAMMERS WHO LIVE IN THE STATES ALTHOUGH I DON'T THINK I HAVE RUN INTO ANY).---SO JUST INSIST ON GETTING THEIR PHONE NUMBER...SOMEONE WHO SAYS THEY ARE IN LOVE WITH YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS GIVING YOU THEIR NUMBER, RIGHT?.... I GET A HUGE KICK OUT OF SEEING HOW THEY RESPOND...USUALLY, THEY JUST SUDDENLY STOP EMAILING

ANOTHER APPROACH IS TO GET A NUMBER OF PHOTOS FROM THEM - OFTEN THEY ARE USING SOMEONE ELSE'S PHOTOS. IF THIS IS SO THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PRODUCE CONSISTENT PHOTOS OF THEMSELVES - GOING BACK TO THEIR TEENS OR YOUNGER. ASK FOR THOSE SPECIFICALLY. YOU CAN DO THAT CASUALLY - IF YOU THINK THERE IS A CHANCE THEY ARE NOT A SCAMMER

Scammers also usually start their messages or letters using terms of endearment. I think that only some time after you know somebody, when you know the person better, you may feel free to use this kind of language. They like to send poems also.

Yes that is generally true, most of the time. But many are smarter than that.

Again in short, although this might be a little more difficult for ladies to do, the best way to be sure is to ask for their phone number & childhood photos.

If they have a profile stating they live in the US but live lesewhere the phone number request will quickly blow them out of the water. And few if any are going to be so sophisticated as to have progressive photographs of themselves (someone else) from childhood

Money!

To give some more insight. Well the one that had me hooked for a while (hook line and sinker) it was also my first experience on one of these sites - posted a profile profile in my state.

She was about one of four women I sent emails to. And BINGO after the first email she wrote me complimenting me and telling me that she (probably a he in reality) really would like to get to know me. Wonderful I thought. Everything seemed to be looking good for a few weeks, except for some red flags.

RED FLAGS? Wouldn't give me her number - despite the fact that she said she "knew I was the one". She would usually skirt around or ignor the request altogether. Her emails were often sent to me at 2, 3 0r 4 am in the morning. I asked her for additional photos which she could not produce. .... How could she I was probably talking to a Black guy in Africa & not a blonde in Arizona.

Then she (he) told me that she was going on a trip to Africa. A few days later she asked me if I could wire her some money because there was a misunderstanding with the motel manager. I didn't even read the whole email.

Money! They start talking to you like you are everything to them. They try to reach those who are more vulnerable and get them attached, so when they say they are in danger or in need, the person do not hesitate to wire them the money.

I have spotted some and got rid of them, but unfortunately many people have been victimized by them.

It's not just money they will ask you for. They'll ask you to send them Ipods, cameras, DVD players - anything they can sell. They key thing is: Do not send something to ANYONE you haven't actually met IN PERSON.
