good evening,

I can only site my own experience in receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues.I love the Lord though I was born a catholic.I opened my heart to Jesus in 1985. that time I know that there were some people in my church that spoke in tongues but being a new believer, i did not understand its significance and that it is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit . It was in one of the home gatherings/bible study thatI went to be prayed over because I can feel that even though i love Jesus so much from since I can remember, I can feel that there is a gap or hindrance that I do not understand. So I stood there , praying, Lord, i want nothing but to be close to you, to feel you close to me... i dont like this feelings that something is hindering me or this gap that i do not understand. I was waiting and talking to Him.I did not even desire to speak in tongues Just suddenly, it was like electricity consuming me and I cant stop crying then i slowly fell backwards without anyone laying hands or praying for me, nor anyone trying to break my fall. It was like some unseen hands was aiding me for there was no pain...I lay on the floor crying with my stomach heaving as if theres so much water and waves inside... when I tried to say something to thank God... words that cant be understood just flow and I just cant stop it then... until now...23 yrs later,in my prayer time, i still worship, interceed, do warfare in tongues. This gift aids us in our prayers. Speaking in tongues edifies himself as he is speaking not unto men but unto God,Speaker also can not exhort or edify others if they dont understand what he is saying and no one interprets the tongues.. So sister, it is good to speak in tongues for it strengthens/edifies your spirit. But if one does not speak in tongues, just remember 1cor 12:4-11 and whole of chapter 13.... Chap. 14 1 says follow after love AND DESIRE spiritual gifts.... but if you desire,,,desire to prophesy.

God bless you... and all

Its extremely important to receive the gift of the holy withe the evidence of speaking in tongues a the spirit give utterance according to acts 2:38, with the combination of baptism in Jesus Name. There are many other scriptures to proove this but i will get in them later, i believe this is required to make it into heaven based n a multitude of scriptures. As i said b4 i will get into this at another time.

Well, speaking in tongues is one of the spiritual gifts from God, but do u believe that all who are baptised in Jesus' name will receive this gift? Seeing how some persons say that essentially without it you are not saved. Therefore persons who are baptised in Jesus' name and live a good Christian life will not be saved since they do not speak in tongues
