My topic has been drawn from a first date I encountered in January 2012; after my divorce which took place last year. The gentleman that I had dinner with was nice in many ways. At first, he was very intelligent in conversation, and smiled alot as I responded nervously when the evening started, this helped to ease my fears and I soon began to open up. Well, the next thing I new, my date then started telling jokes that were not nice, and the punch-lines were rude! I mean 'sailor' jokes, if you will (no offense please to anyone here). In short, I got quiet. I guess you could say that I was trying to give this guy a hint that I didn't like the way the evening was turning out. Once I had taken all that I could stand, I motioned for us to leave the dining hall. That's when he started saying that I was acting "sour" and being anti-social, mainly because I didn't laugh at his obscene and degrading jokes. I mean I thought he was a great guy and new how to treat a lady, but obviously not. Therefore my question to you all is: Have you ever been in a similar situation and then called anti-social because you held your ground? Explain. Thanks! ~ Willow99 Post Reply
