Scammer information!Posted : 11 Jan, 2012 08:17 AMAfter having my identity stolen, used by a scammer, I set out to learn as much information as I could, so it would never happen again. I pray that if one person reads this info, it will help them know, without a doubt, that a Scammer has contacted him/her. My first advice, Never, ever give anyone your personal information, surely here we want to be honest with people, I suggest giving a nickname or only your first name. Generally if you get in a chat with a scammer, you will notice, they may never actually ask you what your name is! If a scammer calls you beautiful, or handsome and you dont have a photo of yourself posted, there's a hint. The largest majority of the time, a scammer does NOT read your profile, at all. They do NOT care to know you, or anything about you, except if you have money and are Gullible to allow them access to your money in any way. Think: Did a person who would ask you for money, earn it? Have you met them personally? How do you know you can trust them? Are you a very generous person who is so willing to listen to every sad story you read or hear, and if it involves sending money by way of Western Union or you giving your complete name, address, city, state, phone number, so someone can send you a "gift"? Please dont be! Not until you are positive of who you are dealing with! I had one scammer tell me they volunteered at an orphanage in Ghana, what a sad story of crippled children, children sick with diseases. These types of things are true. Two days later the scammer pops up to chat, typing "Oh no, the orphanage collapsed, 1 child died, 47 more are in the hospital, the doctor will not treat one child without $5,000 up front. [That's $5000.00 for each child!] If you dont send the money and a child dies, it will be on your head!" In this day of technology, I'm positive if something as bad as an orphanage collapsed anywhere on the planet, it would be online in the news, or somewhere. Another wrote a friend "My dog is sick, can you wire me the money to take the dog to the vet in the amount of $600.00 or send me a plane ticket, so I can send my sick dog to you on a plane so you can take it to a vet in your country?" I am not making this up! One of the first questions they will ask: What do you do for a living? I generally type, I dont talk about it. Rarely that will end the chat. A desperate scammer will continue to pry into your private world, using what is known as a Romance Scam to win your heart, but solely for the purpose of getting into your wallet/ purse/bank account. Never give anyone your address, I suggest not even telling anyone the exact name of the city, or even state you live in. Posting the name of a larger city in your state is my best suggestion, leaving you space to avoid being found in an exact location. I suggest if you want to chat outside this site, if you dont have Yahoo messenger to chat, add it, notice that you can add aliases to go by. I've did this if someone wants to chat I NEVER give them my yahoo email address. I ask for theirs. When I chat with them, I click in the chat box for an Alias name to show to the scammer so they will NOT have my yahoo address. If anyone doesnt understand this, please write to me privately I will be more than happy to assist you in adding the aliases. Its better to be safe than sorry. For once ONE scammer has your Yahoo email or Messenger address, even if you block that ONE. they have more than one address themselves to bombard you from, and they have many friends who are more than willing to assist in bombarding you with the same address. So for instance, if you have Yahoo messenger for chat. Let's imagine your exact address to chat is 12345abcde@yahoo.com. I'm fairly sure its proven that address has been taken and disregarded repeatedly on yahoo. If you give that email address to one scammer, they may give it to a dozen of their friends. Also Yahoo has a directory to locate email addresses anyway, so if you use Yahoo as I do, you may be constantly receiving spam emails, dont open an email from anyone you dont know. Most certainly DO NOT click on a link sent to you by anyone you do not know, The quickest way to destroy your computer with a virus is clicking a link from someone you dont know. Honestly, I dont click on a lot of links sent to me by people I've known all my life. My spyware may not allow me, and after losing towers to viruses, I'm not taking any more chances anyway. Back to the fake, made up email address 12345abcde @ y/a/h/o/o/./c/o/m. OR 1/2/3/4/5/a/b/c/d/e/ @ yahoo dot com. PERHAPS 1 2 3 4 5 a b c d e @ yahoo. Okay I hope you're getting the hint, many scammers type their email address in the weird methods I just did. If it doesnt look right, it probably has a scammer typing it. Now if you have the 12345abcde@yahoo email address and get aliases. Last time I made up 5 different aliases, it took me a while, so many are taken, so you'll have to play with it. If I gave you my alias with @yahoo.com behind it. ie: shoobydoowhop@yahoo.com. and my exact address is 12345abcde, you will never contact me! Not under the alias name! Also about a chat, anywhere. One of my first questions is: Do you have a cam? If its a scammer, they are inclined to type, 'Yes" "but, it broke yesterday, the dog broke it last week, I havent had time to go buy one!" If they say "Yes, do you?" If you do and are willing to go this far in a chat, admit "Yes I do" then say, "May I see you on cam?" Always ask them first. Dont give them the opportunity to ask you first. Or that will be their best and main excuse to not open their cam. Never open your cam, until they have, then type something like "Smile for me! or "Wave at me! or "Come closer so I can see your eyes, please!" If they dont do one of these gestures, understand you could be watching a video of someone else as innocent as you, that the scammers recorded to scam you with! |

Scammer information!Posted : 15 Jan, 2012 06:05 PMI wondered about the warning I saw for people running scams. I guess it's all over. Craigslist is rampant with them, even in the job hunting sections. |

One thing I know for sure is that if you trust the Lord he will protect you and make you smart, strong and wise to know what is hidden from you, what to do en when to do it. |

Scammer information!Posted : 26 Aug, 2012 05:37 AMYesterday, had someone who had posted a photo of a beautiful young woman. The profile stated this 'woman' was 46. I went to the profile and read the small amount of info this person had to share, then I right clicked on the photo. On my computer I've went to Tineye.com and downloaded it, free. Right clicking on any photo will open a box with a big T to click on, taking me to Tineye.com site. Where I found 7 photos of different areas, including UK, he/she claimed to be in USA. Also another chat friend saw that the pic had been photoshopped! Whatever you call it, sorry I dont use photoshop! The '''woman''' had been chatting until I asked him/her why did they have a stolen photo up? Several minutes went by, I asked again, "Why a stolen pic?" A couple of members wanted proof so I posted the link that took them to Tineye.com. So they also realized it was a stolen photo. Probably over 10 minutes later the person replied, "I'm a model"! A member was so gullible that they kept stating "I knew she was a model"! No dear, this was a scammer using a stolen photo of a model, and you still believed this was the real person in the photo! When I asked this person twice, they had the opportunity to answer about the photo, they didnt reply for a very long while. Why? They were trying to find a good possible answer to why they posted a model's photo, which later was, "I'm a model"! If this person had been 'real' they would've answered my question by the 2nd time I asked it. A lady was trying to explain to the one's who were not comprehending the stolen pic, and the person chatting were not the same. A man wrote when he looked at the photo '46 years old and no wrinkles'! He was right. Please dont be so trusting, especially if it looks or sounds too good, for it probably is a scammer! Even on a Christian site! I was Solidad when I first posted the Scammer Information, and I am still the person who spent a great deal of time over the years educating myself and prayerfully helping others to avoid being scammed. As long as I am able to use a computer, when I see a scammer, I will report it. God bless everyone, be careful of what information you give out! |
