I'm 26, born and raised in suburban NJ (25 miles outside the big apple), but never fit in well with the fast life up here. After I met a beautiful Christian home-schooled country sweetheart in a PA college I turned country and never looked back. That was about 5 years ago, I've been single for just over last year, and searching this site for close to -if not over- a year now. Figure its about time to post on the forums and get in on some of the action here.
Without getting that bit of PA farming on the weekends, I'm close to bursting out of this overpopulated state and relocating out to TX, AZ, or NM. Unfortunately my folks, sister and brother-in-law still reside here and NJ, so I'm probably going to have to venture out on my own. I'd had big hopes of meeting someone here that either relocated the the southwest or was born and raised there; someone to talk to about life in an entirely new environment for me.
I've been working for several Fortune 500 companies and corporate HQ's for the the past few years, running 8:30-5:00 (and a lot of overtime), but I'm getting really sick of it all. It's not what I enjoy doing, and though it pays well, my employee satisfaction is through the floor. I've been a Financial/Leasing Analyst in commercial real estate (I'm talking deals thousands of prime square footage for 10 year leases), a computer technician, and a replenishment analyst for a national retail store; but I'd take a pay cut if I could work on a farm or a ranch in a warm climate where my job remained outside most of the time. Driving a BMW doesn't get me excited, but an old Jeep or a 4WD pickup? You better believe it! Anyone out west own or work around a ranch? Want to take a chance on a hard-working, strong spirited, dedicated Christian with good work ethics? I'm in good shape, don't mind getting dirty, and have a little experience working on a miniature donkey farm with over 125 donkeys on the premises. How about a farmer's daughter looking for a loyal guy with a big heart? My dream is to marry a country girl and raise a family with the Lord, but I don't think too many of em' are spending their evenings on the net looking for guys like me. ;o)
I think I'll leave this where it stands for the moment, but I love to write when I have the opportunity, so if you have any questions please ask!
Thank you for taking the time to reply chozen2b, it is very much appreciated. Honestly I wasn't sure what to expect in the way of replies, but one is better than none. ;o)
I must say, for the number of letters I've written to women on this site I've been a little concerned about the number of replies I've received. Not that I think I'm a great guy or have everything all the women want, but because of the manner I've written to them. Many of the letters I've written are just asking for opinions of different parts of the country that I'd like to visit, and yet even when my mailbox indicates they have been "read", I don't receive replies. I try to reply to everyone who writes to me, even if I don't feel a 'click' or foresee a relationship coming from it, it's just rude and [I feel] VERY judgmental not to return at least a 'no thank you, I am not interested' letter. I just don't think that's much to ask for, and try to practice what I 'preach' if you'll forgive the terminology.
So anyway.. I know it's all in His hands, but I'm giving it my best to actively seek His will and my aspirations.
I live out here in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. It used to be a huge agricultural area but it has really declined in the last 30 years. I could be wrong but think a lot of farming is going to large corporations. You might be able to find something in Eastern Oregon. If you can find someone to teach you how to weld then you are on the right track. Metal fabrication is a pretty big deal. Good luck!
