Removing History from our MoviesPosted : 13 Jun, 2020 09:28 PMWhat a shame that a minority of viewers is going to try to eliminate history from films like Gone with the Wind. Does that mean get rid of To Kill a Mockingbird? DJango Unchained? and dozens more? Every country in the world has a history -- slavery was popular in Africa between tribes before they ever saw a white face. Many countries have had slavery. WHO do you think built the Egyptian pyramids? Slaves, Jewish slaves. Tearing down statues of famous men, eliminating books and films that have paragraphs or scenes no one likes is ridiculous. |

Removing History from our MoviesPosted : 18 Jun, 2020 02:46 AMYou consider it a shame, others may consider it progress. I saw gone with the wind once as a child and haven't seen any of the others & have no desire too. Things & times change, I doubt there's much of an appetite for those films, amongst the younger generation. I like history, but I've never watched a film to educate me on it. I've always prefered to read about it in a book...:-) |

Removing History from our MoviesPosted : 13 Jul, 2020 06:14 PMso are you as concerned about our Native Americans? The indians used every part of an animal they killed, they took care of the environment. The whites came in and stole all the land. Broke every treaty that was signed. Moved the Native Americans from their homes onto reservations with the worst soil in the country. They are portrayed in movies as evil...but it was the white man who started it. Yes, the tribes stole from each other, just like African tribes raided other tribes. History is history... sucking up to people who want to change the appearance of it is disgusting. |

Removing History from our MoviesPosted : 6 Oct, 2020 03:47 PMAnything that didn't happen in the last 100 years or so is not able to be confirmed. Books can easily be re-written and ultimately the victors write history anyway. History is when all said and done only the agreed upon series of events. |
