I know this is probably unpopular, but, I still enjoy the old hymns. The ones that are popular and even the ones that people don't sing anymore. I see even Christian artists are inspired by them and place them in their music.

Great observation.

Sometimes what’s popular is just a shallow expression of shallow “Christianity”

The old hymns (not all) tend to have spiritual depth and insight.

I wonder sometimes about the culture and lifestyles of modern woke “Christian” artists singing the old hymns, especially when their walk hardly matches the depth in the old lyrics

I agree. They do have spiritual insight.

While we are praising him with song through hymns, we are also deriving from them that enriches our faith with its wisdom.

And yes, many of them are classic enough that we find them redone (or remixed) in more contemporary worship. One of my favorites that I've often heard in more modern worship is It Is Well With My Soul.
