Bible LexiconPosted : 18 Apr, 2011 10:40 AMBible Lexicon ~ A lexicon is a very useful tool in understanding the root meanings of many words contained in the bible. The Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew, and the New Testament was written in Greek. Although there are many English translations of these scriptures, a lexicon can give us more insight into their meanings, and provide us with richer definitions. For example, there are six different Greek words for our English word "judge." So when the bible mentions the word "judge," a lexicon can help us see the way in which the word is used, as well as provide us with a more amplified definition to assist us in understanding the meaning of the entire sentence.
