Jeremiah 6:16 (KJV) ~ � Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.�
Never forget, if the � Old Paths � is the � Good Way � then it will obviously produce a great change in a person�s life. There are three arresting things � Old-Time� religion will do for an individual;
1~ IT WILL PUT YOU IN A PEW
An obvious thing that � Old-Time � religion will do for a person is place them in a pew (Acts 3:1) � Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.� Conversion does not make one Run From a Fundamental Church, but To a Fundamental Church. This kind of � So-Called Christianity � that Doesn�t Bring You to Church is a Spiritual Mutant ! (Psa 122:1) � I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. �
2~ IT WILL PUT YOU IN A POOL
An obvious thing that the �Old-Time� religion will do for a person is place them in a pool (Acts 8:36) � And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? �
After I got Saved, if you could have proven to me from the Bible ( the Word of GOD ) that the next step of Obedience was to Swim the Baptistery filled with Crocodiles, I would have dove in ! When Someone Receives the Truth about Being Born Again they will Receive the Truth about BAPTISIM ! (Acts 2:41) � then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.�
3~ IT WILL PUT YOU ON A PORCH
An obvious thing that the �Old-Time� religion will do for a person is place them on a porch (Acts 20:20) �And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house,�. Religion that does not Reach Out is ROTTEN Religion !!! Door-to Door Soul Winning, Gospel Tracts and Confrontational Evangelism are not Foreign to an � Old-Fashioned � Encounter with God (Luke14:28) � For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? �
GREAT, JUDE.. Old Time Religion will makes you LOVE your enemies, relatives, so-called firends, and even pray for the government as we are commanded to do! :ROFL::dancingp:
