11/16/08 Pastor Joey's Sunday Sermon: Take Courage!!**John 16:33, Acts 9:20-27, Acts 23:11, Acts 23:12-25, IICor 1:4, ICor 10:13, Acts 20:22-24



John16:33 We are to take heart because Jesus has overcome the world. Be of good cheer because Jesus has overcome the world. He has appointed Victory for us in our lives. We can take Courage to overcome every circumstance in our life. We will have troubles but

TAKE COURAGE!! We will face difficult stuff but .....

JESUS HAS OVERCOME THE WORLD!! WE HAVE VICTORY IN JESUS!!



Acts 9:20-27 Paul got converted, went to Damascus and preaced the gospel of Jesus. The Jews tried to kill him and Paul escaped with help from the disciples. Paul made it to Jerusalem. Most of the time during his ministry, Paul was either on the run, in prison or getting beat up for preaching the gospel.

Acts 23:11 The Lord told Paul to TAKE COURAGE because God was with him and he would preach in Rome. Acts23:12-25 A band of Jews plotted to kill Paul. God made a way for him to be saved. Paul ended up having 470 soldiers protecting him. God had told Paul to TAKE COURAGE!!



****How We Can Take Courage*****



1) Expect Difficulties: Acts 20:22-23 Don't be surprised when you are facing difficulties at work, school or in relationships. Satan doesn't want us to have peace or have things going well. Jesus said we would have difficulties.When we are suprised by challenges then we get blindsided. Expect it, be ready for it and don't flip out! As

Christians, we are enemies of Satan so he will always be after us. God promises to help us overcome.God will be with us ALWAYS!!



2) Have Complete Loyalty to Jesus Acts 20:24 When we have complete loyalty, total dependence on God, we will have complete courage. When we understand the Father's Love, then we will have loyalty to God and Jesus Christ. God has PERFECT LOVE for us.

If a parent's imperfect love melts for their children, imagine how much God's perfect love melts for us whe we have complete loyalty for God. God's heart melts for us when we give our life totally to Jesus. God's love is so good that when we sin, he forgives us. We don't have to do good stuff fourteen times to make up for that one sin. We are FORGIVEN!!



3) People Who Have Our Back: We need people around us to support us and have our back. In our living for Jesus the right way, we need fellow Christians to be around us. They have our back and we have their back. We encourage each other to TAKE COURAGE!



II Cor 1:4 God comforts us so we can comfort others. We receive God's comfort and we pass it on by loving on people.

I Cor 10:13 God will provide a way. He will provide a Window of Escape for us. He will give us people to help us and he will not let us be tempted to sin beyond what we can bear. If we choose to sin then its on us but he WILL provide a way of escape. Whatever we are going thru, there is a Window of Escape if we turn to God. Ask God to show us the Window. God will show us because GOD LOVES US!!



TAKE COURAGE!! WE HAVE THE VICTORY IN JESUS NAME!!
