Mortal: of a greater height.

Used in a sentence : Billy Bob is mortal than his brothers and sisters.

In Luke 16 we have Jesus telling us about Lazarus.

Most people call this a parable, but if it is a parable it is the ONLY ONE where Jesus uses a persons name.

I find that curious. Jesus would say, "a certain farmer" etc. and here we have a man named Lazarus.

Well, Lazarus was certainly conscious!

But read Luke 16 and see what you think.

In Christ,

James

I see it as an allegory and the meaning is their are consequenses in this life for how we treat others, especially the poor when we are well off.

Where's Abraham's bossom?

Was Lazerus really talking to Abraham?

Is Abraham resurrected, yes (but if one goes to them from the dead). So dead Lazerus in the grave wants resurrected Abraham to go to his live brothers and talk to them? Figurative

vs 31 if you don't believe, you don't believe and nothing is going to change your mind even if someone rose from the dead to tell you. Too much stretching of the mind to be literal.

I Tim 6 vs 16 : who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light whom no man has seen or can see- What! no one has seen Jesus, you can't see Jesus, who dwells in unapproachable light who alone has immortality-

I'm gonna have to add this one to my scripture list about heaven.
