When do we meet Jesus? Those pesky scriptures.

I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go prepare a place for you, I will come again, AND RECEIVE YOU TO MYSELF.

Why doesn't He receive people in Heaven?

and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels.

How come they aren't resting in heaven?

Now, brethryn, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, AND OUR GATHERING TOGETHER WITH HIM. I thought they were already gathered in heaven with Him.

when He comes in that Day, to be glorified in His saints AND TO BE ADMIRED AMONG ALL THOSE WHO BELIEVE

I thought they were already in heaven admiring Jesus.

Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with themin the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

I thought the saints were already with Jesus.

Finally there is laid up for methe crown of righteousness which the Lord will give to me in that DAYand not only to me but also to all who have loved His APPEARING.

What does 'in that Day and His appearing mean?' If someone appears, you see them.

and now little children abide in Him, that when He APPEARS ( there's that word again) we may have confidense and not be ashamed before Him AT HIS COMING.

If you are in Heaven with Jesus why would you need to not be ashamed?

3 verses later : Beloved , now we are children of God; we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him.

When is Jesus revealed? AT HIS COMING.

Heb 9 vs 28 : So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him, He will appear a 2nd time, apart from sin, for salvation.

To those who wait for Him, not us going to Him.

He will appear a second time - the 2nd coming

Hilltop, I think you are confusing the spirit with the natural body with the resurrected body. Paul says, "We are confident, [I say], and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." We have a spirit. When we die, our bodies die, but not the spirit. Paul knew this. He knew that if he [spirit] was absent from the body, he'd be present with the Lord. His natural body stays behind, decomposes. When Christ returns, that body is raised incorruptible [resurrection].

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality.

When do you get your resurrected body? At the resurrection at Christ's return. At His comimg. What do you think a resurrection is? The resurrection is an event. 1st resurrection and Great White Throne judgement.

In the grave who will give You praise?

for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the GRAVE where you are going.

As Job says til my change comes. Or , we will all be changed in the twinkling of an eye.

I say the change comes, for those in Christ, at Christ's return, you say it comes immeidiately at death. I don't see scriptural support for your position. I see lots scripture in the bible where people look forward to Christ's return.

Heb 9 vs 28 To those who eagerly wait for HIm He will appear a second time apart from sin,for salvation.

Yes I do. Change is putting on a new tent, one that is eternal. A spiritual body, that like Jesus, can walk through walls. A body that is sin free cleansed by the blood of the Lamb. but we know when He is revealed we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

Well, I hate to sound like I'm using Calvinist logic, however it gets the point across.

Dead people don't 'change' tents.

vs 23 But each one in his own oder: Christ the first fruits, afterward those who are Christ's at His coming.

I Thes 4 vs 16 : For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of an arch angel, and with the trumpet of God. AND THE DEAD IN CHRIST WILL RISE FIRST.

"IN CHRIST" .... 'IN' , another word with a meaning.
