The Gospel of Calvinism in One SentencePosted : 9 Apr, 2011 10:33 PMImagine sitting in a church service hearing that junk. Now imagine being an unbeliever sitting in a church service hearing that junk. It would go something like... man cannot of himself believe and unless God has chosen him to salvation there is nothing he can do. So Joe Unbeliever goes home wondering if he will be one of the chosen ones. He wonders if he should sit and wait for God to choose him. But what if God doesn't choose him? And how will he know if God does choose him? |

The Gospel of Calvinism in One SentencePosted : 10 Apr, 2011 12:43 PMWell it is true that no will choose, for none seek after Christ as the scriptures say. However God doesn't choose people against their will, rather He changes the heart of some to who would have never changed their own heart. That's different than saying He saves people against their will. Furthermore, I'm not sure why this is so often viewed as evil, as if to say "How could God be this cruel to man". My question is what exactly does man deserve from God? |

The Gospel of Calvinism in One SentencePosted : 10 Apr, 2011 01:00 PM1Sa 2:6-8 The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up. The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up. He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, and he hath set the world upon them. |
