Pre-eminence of Christ/First Born From The Dead

Christ, In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins, who is the image of the invisible God, THE FIRST BORN of every creature. For by Him ALL things were created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or powers, or principilities, ALL THINGS were created by Him and for Him. And Christ is BEFORE ALL THINGS, and by Him ALL THINGS CONSIST. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, THE FIRST BORN FROM THE DEAD, that in ALL things He might have the PRE-EMINENCE. For it pleased the Father that in Him ALL full should live." Colossins chapter 1

What does it mean that Christ holds the PREEMINENT position in ALL THINGS, and that He is the First Born from the Dead?... FIRST BORN FROM THE DEAD? SO, HOW WOULD YOU EXPLAIN CHIRST AS BEING THE FIRST BORN FROM THE DEAD? AND HIS PREEMINENCE?

For your edification:

Pre-eminence of Christ means that He is above angels, man, earth and everything that lives in it, including all power in heaven, because Jesus is God incarnated. Everything created was created by Him and through Jesus Christ, all the fullness of everything on earth and in heaven. John chapter 1; Hebrews chapters 1-7.

Jesus Christ is the first born of the dead, because He is the FIRST and ONLY person who died in the flesh, and God through Hi own power raised Him from the dead and He is still is alive in the Spirit. Everybidy else died and are still buried, and those whom Jesus raised form the dead, still had to died again.

This phrase First Born from the Dead means that Jesus is the Only one who died, never to die again, and is our assurance as Christian believers, of our own resurrection from the dead those who die in Christ of our first death in the physical, and that we will be risen from the dead trhough the pwoer of God when Jesus returns never to die again and live forevr in the spirit.

Also, Acts 26 vs 23, Rev 1 vs 5, and I Cor 15 vs 20. These all say Jesus was the first to rise from the dead.

And when are we raised?

I Cor 15 vs 23 : Those who are Christ's at His coming.

lol, Jude, I knew this would be a hard one, but I had hoped and thought the pop-theologians knew the answers for discussion. But, then again, it wasn't bout Calvin, but about God Himself and His Word of Truth.

Hilltop, thanks for adding those other passages:applause:

If you read the Bible clear through you will see that Jesus is the ONLY one begotten of God, everything else is created. (except the personification of wisdom in proverbs)

BTW, 2sparrow, one does not need to read the Bible clear through, all one must do is read the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. And especially, the first chapter in the book of John.

Its all told in the beginning of each gospel that He is the Only Begotten (which means gotten of, by God) of God who was born not by blood, nor by the will of the flesh, nor by the will of men's desires, but OF GOD, becasue He was God INCARNATED...
