What Is Your Calling? Do You Know God's Will For Your Life?

Who else here has obsessed with this topic at some point

during your walk of faith?

It's fascinating, at least to me,and one area that can be so elusive. It can almost give you a complex trying to discern God's Will and personal calling for your life as I don't want to miss it and make a mess of what time remains for my life. I don't think I'm the only person who feels that way..lol!

Perhaps, it's easy to associate a "calling" with work in the ministry and that of course is valid. Pastors are typically

called into that line of work as are the other people who

play a big part in that profession and public platform. Then,

there are some people who are determined in the flesh that they are destined for public ministry service yet quickly find out there is no annointing and authority to do so.

Do you believe God's Will and your personal calling are

lined up together? Can you distinguish a difference?

God's generic Will for all His people is to be holy, sexually pure, thankful, and to evangelize the Gospel in prayerful hopes of winning souls over to God's Kingdom. (These statements are all based on scripture)

I get that, and you probably do to.

Is there really a specific blueprint for our personal calling?

Can your vocation be your calling?

Can what your most passionate about and great at doing be directly related to God's Will for your life?

How has this played out in your life?

enjoy your day!

Your "calling" can be anything that furthers the Kingdom. One of the easiest ways to find your calling is to write it all down. I will give you an example. Draw 3 large circles on a piece of paper. In the first circle write your core values. These are the things that make you weep or pound the table. In the second write your spiritual gifts. These are NOT restricted to the ones listed in the Bible, God gave us all some things that we are good at. In the last circle write your past experiences. These include jobs, hobbies, or anything you know how to do. It has been my experience that when you look at all these things together, you will realize that it was there in front of you the whole time.

Now, once you think you know, give it to God in prayer. I say this because mine told me missionary, but God told me Evangelist. He gets the last word.

I heard a preacher say something to this effect:

Instead of asking the question "what is Gods will for my life" it would be better to start asking the question "What is Gods will".

I think that has been a help to me also!
