Who will forgive me all my sins?
Posted : 24 Mar, 2011 03:32 AM
Brothers,
Lets consider today a few issues:
Will be all Jews saved because they are God's chosen people and do Jews and we all have to believe in Jesus Christ to be saved?
My brother Aliasgar asked me:
btw...how does Jesus dying on the cross atone for my sins in any way?!
Hi, good question. God is Omniscient. So, if your name was written in the Book of Life
by God before the foundation of the world, then you will be saved and redeemed.
God is not a human being and He knows the end from the beginning.
That's why He knew if you will be saved or not...i.e. He knew your decision if you would believe in Him or not. By rejecting Him, you will never be saved and your sins will never
be forgiven. So, He knew if you would belong to the Small Remnant who will be saved or not.
Re-read Isaiah 53 saying about this remnant below.
So, if God knew that you will belong to the Small Remnant then your sins are forgiven
through your repentance and FAITH in God Jesus. It means that God Jesus took your sins
and sins of the world to His holy body (like animal sacrifices in Israel) on the cross.
At the moment of your repentance through your FAITH your spiritual bank account
will be replenished and you will get a 'huge loan amount'. You did not deserve it
but your name was kept in the bank system to give you access to money and through a procedure of 'authorization' you will get righteousness of Jesus imputed to you.
You didnt deserve it. He gave you His righteousness. So, take this righteousness, live eternally and use the loan money to make investments in the Kingdom of Heaven. Live and allow other people to live. Share your life and faith and bring glory of a son to His Father.
Let me explain: God chose to save the humankind from eternal separation from God. But not all people chose God to be saved. Thats why a relative small group of people called the Small Remnant will be saved. From the Gods eternal perspective this group of people is called as saved and redeemed people. God calls everyone to His Kingdom, but the fact is that not all want to enter there. Some of them are blind, others created their own gods/allahs and others worship cow gods and unable to enter even into the cow kingdom.
The Gospel or the Good News that we all can enter the Kingdom of God is to be preached to everyone. But only those who will believe will be saved.
Because there are so many ways in the labyrinth of our life but only one way will lead you to the right destination. And this way is not the way of cows and millions of other Indian allahs. But it is the way described by God through His prophets on the pages of the Holy Scripture which existed many centuries before Islam.
The Gospel is to be preached to everyone, because it is the power of God to salvation for all who believe (Romans 1:16) and it is the means that God has ordained by which the elect will be saved (Romans 10:14-17).
The substitutionary atonement refers to Jesus Christ dying as a substitute for sinners.
The Scriptures teach that all men are sinners and the penalty for our sinfulness is death.
Romans 6:23 reads, For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Everyone will die, but some will live in heaven with the Lord for eternity, while others will live a life in the lake of fire for eternity. However, this verse teaches us is that eternal life is available through Jesus Christ for EVERY ONE. If you want to be saved then you should know that God also desires to save you.
But why did Jesus die on the cross in our place?
And what is an atonement?
Lets read explanation offered by my sister:
And God said to Jesus, "You are a Priest forever, just like Melchizedck"
The old law is done away with, because it was weak and useless, people did not obey it and continued in their sins after making the animal sacrifice. The law did not make anyone perfect. Now a better HOPE has been given to us, and that HOPE brings us near to God. The change of Priests was made with an oath. While others became Priests without any oath. But Jesus became a Priest with an oath. God said to Him, " The Lord has taken an oath and made a promise. He will not change His mind. He has said, You are a Priest forever"
And because of that oath, Jesus makes the promise of a better covenant certain." He is our High Priest...
Before Jesus came to earth, people long ago had to pay for their own sins. They had to offer an animal sacrifice to God.
The priest would take the animal's blood to God's altar and offer it up for the sins of that person who brought the animal. Then the priest would pray and ask God to forgive the person or people's sins. This would cover the sins for one year. Then the person would have to come back every year with a new animal sacrifice.
Now that Jesus has made this great sacrifice for sins for every person born and is to be born in the world, and He who knew no sins, took on all the sins of the world that will ever be committed in the world of all people. Jesus is the blood sacrifice to God. But He does not bring the blood of animals, He suffered to give His own blood on the altar.
Jesus paid the price for our sins with His own blood on the cross, and the blood of Jesus paid for all our sins. Now there is no need for an animal sacrifice to cover our sins. Jesus has erased this practice. He saved you completely and you are saved when you believe by faith in the blood that He shed on the cross.
And His forgiveness is forever as far as the east is to the west, when there is total repentance of those sins. Each time you confess your sins to God, you are forgiven. But you must TURN away from those sins, or suffer the punishment and consequences of those sins from the mighty hands of God.
We are taught that when we repent of our sins, God is faithful and just, and He will forgive us of ALL our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. However, if you continue in those sins He will punish us, because we are frustrating His grace and the blood of Jesus, and placing Jesus back on the cross crucified all over again for the sins He has already suffered for. And this makes a Holy God very angry.
Jesus Christ is our High Priest of the New Covenant, and there is no longer a need to go to any priest to pray or to confess our sins to, because we now have personal access directly to the throne of grace through Jesus Christ when we pray for our own sins before God. And God Himself has given us an invitation to come boldly to His throne of grace.
Ref. to: Hebrews chapters 7-10
So, brothers, Jesus Christ died in our place when He was crucified on the cross. We deserved to die because we are the ones who live sinful lives. But the HOLY God Jesus took the punishment on Himself in our placeHe substituted Himself for us and took what we rightly deserved. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Propitiation is the act of appeasing the wrath of God, while expiation is the act of atoning for sin and removing it from the sinner. So, through our FAITH in God Jesus we achieved both through Jesus, i.e.our sins are removed and forgiven and we are reconciled with God. When Jesus sacrificed Himself on the cross, He appeased Gods wrath against sin, taking that wrath upon Himself: Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! (Romans 5:9).
But will be Jews saved too if they do not believe in God Jesus?
For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:
 The Deliverer will come out of Zion,
And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
For this is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins.
Romans 11: 25-27
God has no intention of turning His back on the Jews, and though there
be only a Small Remnant of believing Jews in Messiah, that the day would come when God would fully restore the Jews, and open their eyes to the truth.
But until this day if you are a Jew and you do not want to believe in God Jesus then what will happen with you at the day of your death?
You will be judged for your sins the same way like Muslims.
There is no difference between you and Muslims before the righteous and holy God.
He is going to judge you for your disbelief and crimes you have committed against God and people. What are your sins? A sin is disobedience to God and disbelief. So, if you kill any man you commit a crime against God and this man. This crime is called sin. Why? Because God said in His 10 HOLY commandments that you shall NOT kill. Any violation of the words/laws of God is a sin. We all know our sins and we all are sinners. Those who are NOT forgiven of their sins will be PUNISHED by God because He is the Highest Justice and He hates our sins. Our sins are just unacceptable for the Holy God!
Leviticus 16:30 For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD.
Leviticus 16:34 And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.
Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
Do not forget about the Day of Atonment/Yom Kippur. Israelites could only rejoice after they had repented of their sins and experienced the cleansing and renewal of redemption. We shall see that the sins cleansed on the Day of Atonment, were those which had been confessed, repented, and forgiven. So, God desires to forgive our sins. Note also that unrepented sins could not be expiated by a substitutionary animal sacrifice.The people who defiled the sanctuary by their defiant sins, could not be cleansed even on the Day of Atonment, because their sins had not been confessed and atoned for prior to that day. The sacrificial system operated on the principle of substitutional interchange. On the one hand the purity of the sacrificial animal (Lev 4:3, 23; Num 19:2) was transmitted symbolically through the blood rites to the impure, sinful person. On the other hand, the sins of the penitent sinners were transmitted to innocent animals by confession and the laying on of hands on their heads. In turn the sins assumed by the animals were brought into the sanctuary through the manipulation of the blood or the eating of the flesh by the priest. The same way, God Jesus took the sin of the world to His HOLY body to make us FREE of our sins and to impute us His RIGHTEOUSNESS. to save the SMALL REMNANT of their sins. He was the Lamb of God who was HOLY (according to al Quran and the Bible). You Muslims and Jews can be among this Small Remnant if you will put your trust in God Jesus. If no, then your sins will remain on your hands and you will be judged for your sins.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from Gods wrath through him! For if, while we were Gods enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! (Romans 5:8-10).
Jesus only died for those whom the Father chose from the foundation of the world to be saved.
This group of redeemed individuals is often referred to as the elect or the chosen of God. Did Jesus die for everyone in the world or only a select group of individuals? He died to save all of us. But many people will be lost because they do NOT need Gods salvation. God offers His salvation to all of us. But not all want to have it! God stretches His hand out to give it to us. But we ignore His love and reject His offer. So, who will take this FREE gift of salvation? Those who will do it will be called the elect and the chosen! You can be among them if you will wish it. God does not want to violate your free will and He does not force you to it. It is your choice to LIVE or to DIEto inherit the Kingdom of Heaven or to worship your own false gods. God loves you unconditionally and He respects your choice. Thus, your choice to BELIEVE in God Jesus or not will be echoed in eternity. Your choice determines where you will spend eternity in the eternal separation from God or in His presence. And your choice will determine whether would be your name found written in the Book of Life or not. How does God know your choice you will make now or in the future? He is omniscient. He knows the end from the beginning.
Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15)
Knowing that not everyone is going to be saved, we have a hope:
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Summary: Jesus said I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me (John 14:6). It means that no one of unbelievers will reach the Kingdom of Heaven. Because by knocking at the false door created by the fallen angels/jinns you will fail to see the LIGHT of God. No one is able to open the door for you to the Kingdom of Heaven because there are millions of such doors around you. Only Jesus is the Door to His Kingdom. He not only invites you there but He will pursue you to the depth of your hide-outs. And His love will try to save you until the last second of your life. In Islam you are trying to get to the Kingdom of your Islamic allah and you can NEVER be sure that you will be there. But our God seeks to save you and ensure your safe arrival to His HOLY dwelling place. He is seeking you and suffering long to get you HOME. This is the difference between LOVE and fake. Between God of LOVE and false gods/allahs.
My Jewish brother said:
Per G-d's Word in Hebrew Scripture, Jesus could not be a sacrifice (human sacrifice being forbidden and an "abomination" to G-d).
Brothers, if you state that then you claim that God is a LIAR! Because He said that a Man will redeem us of all our sins. It was said in the holy Tanakh/the Old Testament by the HOLY God!
And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
When You make His soul an offering for sin,
By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many,
For He shall bear their iniquities.
Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great,
And He shall divide the spoil with the strong,
Because He poured out His soul unto death,
And He was numbered with the transgressors,
And He bore the sin of many,
And made intercession for the transgressors.
Isaiah 53
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:4-6
He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. ... Isaiah 53:8-12
Who is this Man who should save us from our sins? God said through the prophet Isaiah about this Man. God cannot lie! Lie is an abomination for Him. And this Man saved us of all our sins. He is Jesus Christ. Those who are not saved will be in the lake of fire. Thus, repent and get forgiveness of all your sins through FAITH in God Jesus.
Isaiah 53 (New King James Version)
Isaiah 53
1 Who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,
And as a root out of dry ground.
He has no form or comeliness;
And when we see Him,
There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
3 He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He opened not His mouth;
He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,
And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment,
And who will declare His generation?
For He was cut off from the land of the living;
For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.
9 And they made His grave with the wicked
But with the rich at His death,
Because He had done no violence,
Nor was any deceit in His mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him;
He has put Him to grief.
When You make His soul an offering for sin,
He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days,
And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand.
11 He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied.
By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many,
For He shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great,
And He shall divide the spoil with the strong,
Because He poured out His soul unto death,
And He was numbered with the transgressors,
And He bore the sin of many,
And made intercession for the transgressors.
