There are those who believe satan has power equal to God, and that God does not control over satan, and satan does not need permission from God to do anything.
But of course, the Bible teaches us this is not God's truth, and that satan has no more power than what God has allowed him, and satan cannot do anything unless God gives him permission.
The Bible also teaches us that the anitchrist which is of satan has not come yet, because of the RESTRAINING work of God through the power of His Holy Spirit.
Therefore, if God does not have power over satan why is God RESTRAINING the coming of the antichrist, which is according to the working of satan?

Sorry Hilltop, but this is not what the scripture is speaking. The anitchirst that John is speaking about is a FORM of satan's ministering people who are false teachers, teahcing false doctrines that many are following.Bbut the REAL antichirst that is to comeHAS NTO COME YET! You can't just give half a passages without all the rest that appliies to it for understanding.
Listen to what the whole of I John is saying about the antichirst, I JOHN CHAPTER 2 starting at verses 18--19: Little chirldren, it is the last hour and as you have heard that the anitchirst IS COMING, even now MANY ANITCHIRSTS have come by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us (who are the they?... John is speaking about those who were with the disciples and apostles and started out with them, but stop following with them and started preaching and teaching thier own doctrines and false gospel, even Paul speak about those who left and preached false doctrine). John continues: BUT THEY WERE NOT OF US, BECAUSE HAD THEY BEEN WITH US, THEY WOULD HAVE CONTINUED WITH US, BUT they went out so that THEY MIGHT BE MADE KNOWN (exposed), THAT NONE OF THEM WERE OF US (meaning apart of the apostles and disciples preaching the true gospel of Jesus)."
And for the sake of knowing what 2 Thessalonians says about the anitchrist this is what is written, and the answer to the question PJ, still has not answered.

So I ask you again PJ, since you disagree that God has power over satan. I ask again, if God does not have COMPLETE POWER over satan, why is God able to place a RESTRAINING order(hold) over THE ANTICHRIST Satan's COMING?
BTW way, in verse 2, Paul is speaking about those false teachers who had written letters to the church and new converts, and were going around preaching and teaching that the antichrist had already come. hmmmm ?... wonder who else is saying these thinks against what scriptures has to say? lol
