Hopefully, my last post on Reformed Doctrine

The difference between Systematic Theology and the Gospel is the same difference as reading a book about horse anatomy and hugging a horse around the neck burying your face in the mane and breathing in the scent of horse.
1Corinthians speaks of knowledge this way : " knowledge puffs up" and "knowledge will pass away", Colossians says "the reality is found in Christ"
The apostle Phillip was a ' bean counter' always figuring and calculating. Yet the apostle John was the one leaning physically on Jesus at the Last Supper and is described as 'the apostle Jesus loved'
It is good to know what you believe and why. However intellectualizing the Gospel to extremes leads away from Jesus, and one begins to put their trust in their understanding of the Gospel instead of the person of God.
Proverbs ~ "Trust in God and lean not on your own understanding"
Be cautious of Reformed Doctrine and Systematic Theology.
it is far better to...
...Hug Jesus and breathe in deeply the Grace of God.
2sparrow, :applause: I hope this is your last post on Reformed Doctrine, because man's doctrine always lead us away from the Doctrine (teachings) of Christ and weakens our faith, and causes confusion to the hearers.
This is why Paul warns, that if anyone comes teachings another Jesus or another doctrine not to engage with them unless you are giving them the truth about the doctrine that brings salvation, which is the Truth about Jesus , His grace, His mercy, and His death for all people unot salvation. Otherwise, man's doctrine always leads to arguements and are unprofitable debates, going no where, and weakens our faith, and the fiath of those who need to hear the truth about Jesus. Get your attention off of Jesus...
I love James, and he has provided some good articles from time to time, but when it comes to what Jesus did on the croos for ALL the WORLD to be saved, James, and Calvin have it all wrong... Gpd's word speaks for its self.
As I've said many times on this form... Calvin NEVER intended for his writings to be made into a doctrine, he wrote his thoughts and beliefs, and a lot of his works is right on. But men have taken a lot of his work out of context of what he wrote, and have turn much of what he wrote into doctrines that are not biblical, because they cannot fully understand where Calvin was coming from, as he himself was going in search of his OWN spiritual understanding of God, and how God did what he did for mankind.
Stick with what you know that is written as Truth in God's word, there is no need for anyone to try and explain what Calvin or Arminus anyone else wrote about what God said, are about what Jesus did on the cross... Its all very clear in the Bible according to what God did and what God said, and what Jesus did for mankind.
This is why REVELATION of God's word by the Holy Sprit is the KEY to understanding and knowing God, and His truth. And INTERPRETATION is man's way of trying to understand God and His truth by man's own logic. The things of God are DISCERNED THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT, and cannot be interpreted by the carnal mind of man. This cannot be done!

I am of non-reformed theology, and that is Not what I believe, therefore your statement is in error. Our security is in Gods hands, we are called by God to trust in His Grace as evidenced by the Cross of Jesus Christ.
James, it is so simple, a child can understand it : 'lest you become like little children....'
James, can a little child understand the Doctrines of Grace and how they all interact?... I think not.
