I was not originally going to come back into the forums for awhile, but I could use your help. In dealing with some young women, an issue has come up in regards to trust and learning to trust. I'm wanting to work on an article that helps others, specifically women learn how they can trust others, specifically with their hearts to men. There are several verses that I'm aware of, 1 Corinthians 13:4, 1 John 4:18, 1 John 3:18. So for the 1st part: What are some other verses that you find have helped you over the years learn to trust and love others? 2nd part: Also, the lyrics below are to a song that Carmen use to sing along time ago "Fear Not My Child". What do the words mean to you. I see nowhere in the Bible where we are called to trust people. I see everywhere in the Bible where we are called to trust God. God calls us to Love people and Trust Him for the outcome, whatever it may be. She needs to realize Love and Trust are two different things. Her trust belongs in God alone. Post Reply

But God will show us who we should or should not trust. Post Reply

I used the above verses mentioned to show her what type of person to look for. That when someone is bearing the fruits of love, that these are people who you are proving time and time again, that they are capable of being trusted. I did mention that people will fail her and that God is the only one who will never fail us. Thanks for the verses, Sparrow. Will look more into them. We are to trust that people will fail us and to trust that God won't. In looking for a mate one cannot find anyone totally 100% trust worthy. Therefore it is better to look for a mate who you like. To explain : It is better to look for the kind of person who wouldn't cheat or be abusive rather than looking for a person you can trust not to cheat or be abusive. It is a subtle difference, I hope it makes sense. Post Reply

Just one of the many verses that can be used for a reason to love others is Romans 14:11 (Rom 14:11) For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. The 2nd part: The fear that is NOT fear of the Lord is fear from the devil, the fear used by the devil is his tool to cover our joy, joy is a tool of the Lord to put us into receptiveness of Him. (Luk 2:10) And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Hope I understood the question. Post Reply
