Posted : 21 Feb, 2011 12:21 PM Everything short of Scripture is....any of these : *Doctrines of man *Scripturally unrevealed truth *Spiritually revealed personal truth *Theory *Hypothesis *Wishful thinking *Heresy There are many who believe their doctrine is Scripture. The only way this can be true is if their doctrine "IS" Scripture. If their doctrine interprets, defines or adds to Scripture they have crossed the line into one or more on the list above. The admission of going beyond Scripture disarms divisiveness, however pride and insecurity must first be overcome. Granted many passages can have more than one accepted meaning. A humble, secure person need not embrace every meaning, however they will acknowledge and seek to understand it, this to disarms divisiveness. It is when a person or group of people go beyond what the Scriptures plainly say and declare their trurth is the only truth, subjugating all others to the realm of bad theology or even heresy, this is the beginning of divisiveness, ending in division.
