Destination VS Journey

It seems to me that many Christians are focused on the destination and their journey is all about trying to reach the destination. However; I believe that my destination is secure therefore I can focus on the journey. I believe the best way to do this is to try to the best of my ability to be a Romans 12:1, 2 Christian (not that Im all that good at it but it is my desire).

Romans 12:1, 2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

When I was unsaved my focus was always on reaching a destination. Everything I did was to get something for me, even the good things I did for others. For example; back in my biker days I had bought some groceries for a neighbors kids. My reward or the destination I reached was I and the club I rode with were viewed as good in the eyes that mother, we could do no wrong (of course we wont where the money came from to buy the groceries). It was just PR!

Now that Ive been reborn I am a servant of the Lord. That means I am supposed to serve the Lord, a server not a servee. To wait on the Lord is not to sit there like a bump on a log waiting on God to do something for us; for us to wait on the Lord is to be waiters and waitresses serving the Lord. I believe to serve the Lord we need to focus on the journey not the destination.

What do you think? Are you focused on the destination or the journey? Does the Bible support or oppose my opinion?

Dear Brother, with all my heart I will have to say neither.

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, author and perfector of our faith..."

(Heb 12:2)

hmm, can't I do both?

Titus 2:12 and 13 talks of how to live here, and looking forward to THERE!

Both of which will be rewarded (living right I mean) SO...

if I am seeking His face, the journey will be better now and rewarded later.

Looking for His coming~according to 2Tim 4:8 will result in a crown to lay at His feet!

Our God covers all the bases doesn't He?!

Awesome Awesome God!!
