Let's see how long we can keep this going.

I would like to play a game where we make an obscure reference to a verse in the Bible (doesn't have to be well known) and see if some one can guess it.

According to wisdom literature, what happens to a tree when it falls? What is the verse?

Well, that depends on whether the tree lands on a mime!

Sorry - couldn't resist.

But it does depend on where it falls.

"Whether a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where it falls, there will it lie."

Eccleiastes 11:3

Good one! I'll have to think of a good reply....

You are correct godslamb. I remember that one because it was the verse that God used to convert R. C. Sproul. He read it and realized how true it was, and he realized that he could trust Gods word. Even he admits that it was weird.

Who or what is this passage about and where is it found?

For she leaves her eggs to the earth, and lets them warm on the dust; and forgets that a foot may crush it, or the beast of the field may trample it; she treats her young roughly, as if they are not hers; for her labor is vanity without fear; because God has made her forget wisdom; and He has not given to her a share in understanding.

Job 39: 14-17

Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,

And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.

She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labour is in vain without fear;

Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.

In chapters 38 and 39 God is discussing the wonders of nature and animal life with Job. The Which leaveth her eggs would be an ostrich according to verse 13.

the first shall be last and the last first now take two stones and only move one stone. the first shall be last so 1 would become 2.

then 2 becomes 1 again the second stone never moves....Adam was first a life giving spirit but then became flesh due to sin, when he came again, he came as flesh and died but death could not hold him, then he became a life giving spirit. Adam was given the name above all names Jesus . He is the first and last...for it is though ONE man sin entered and existed.

Where is a scripture that tells us not to speak evil of God's chosen, and then gives an OT example?

Are you speaking of Acts 23:5 (NASB)

5 And Paul said, "I was not aware, brethren, that he was high priest; for it is written, 'YOU SHALL NOT SPEAK EVIL OF A RULER OF YOUR PEOPLE.'"

Which references

Exodus 22:28 (NASB)

28 "You shall not curse God, nor curse a ruler of your people.

Close.

Jud 1:8 Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries.

Jud 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"

Jud 1:10 But these speak evil of whatever they do not know; and whatever they know naturally, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves.
