Conversions?Posted : 29 Jan, 2011 12:08 AMWhy is it that most all converts cling and defend modern Bibles (albeit do use the King James too), when you had the wisdom and knowledge to know to come out of a religion probably because you study and did research and if so must have researched the histories of Bibles, manuscripts, translations and translators? |

Conversions?Posted : 29 Jan, 2011 07:19 AMI find it interesting that the Bible has been translated into sooo many languages when say the Koran has not. Muslims may translate it, but the real Koran, the words of Allah are in Arabic. |

Conversions?Posted : 29 Jan, 2011 09:18 AMGoogle spurious and added scriptures and you will find some interesting facts about all English language bibles. One of the main scriptures that is used by Charismatics was added as an ending to Mark 16 because the ending was lost. The real manuscript stops at what we call verse 8. Verses 9-20 were added and are supposed to be bracketed as such. In the KJV, the brackets were left out and all other English translations have followed suit. |

Conversions?Posted : 29 Jan, 2011 09:51 AMLeon even if it was added as you say, it is totally in line with scripture, now if you want to make it charismatic, calvinist, you can it is all in unbelief and then of works as you proclaim. |

Conversions?Posted : 29 Jan, 2011 10:06 AMGod bless you, PJ. You are entitled to your opinion. No one said it didn't fit with the rest of scripture. I said it was used by Charismatics because it is. I was formally taught by them, so i know what I am talking about. You don't have to believe me, I couldn't care less what you think. I stated a fact. You came here insulting and accusing. |

Conversions?Posted : 29 Jan, 2011 10:35 AMUnless one is reading in Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic they read a "translation" of the Bible. Different translations are used for different things; study, easy of reading, grasp a idea, personal preference, poetry etc... The point is unless we read the original languages we are all reading a translation. |
