Sunday 1/16/11 Pastor Ron sermon=Why We Should Want to Live for God=II Cor 5:14-15, Rom 11:36, Rom :35-39, Gal 3:13Rom 5:8, Rom 6:8, Rom 6:23, Rom 6:4-11, Acts 20:24
We began from God. He is our owner, our creator. We can only function properly thru God. We began and continue thru God. Everything God gives us comes from Him and only works properly thru God. We must never feel that God expects too much from us. We should not struggle to do things for God because we will feel guilty if we dont do them.( tithing, teaching Sunday school, etc) Guilt is a bad motivation to do things for God.
Why We should Want to Live for God II Cor 5:14-15
1) Compulsion:
The love of Christ constrains us. Jesus died for us. Paul was overwhelmed by the love of Christ for him. We should also be overwhelmed by this love.
Roman 8:38 Nothing can separate us from the love of God. The love of Christ motivates us, forces us to be good steward and to live for God. The love of Christ should pressure us, compel us, motivate us to live a life of good stewardship.
2) Christ Died for All:
Christ died in the place of, for all. Jesus Christ took our place and died for us on the cross. Jesus took the death that was ours. Gal 3:13 Jesus was made a curse for us. Cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree. Roman 5:8, Romans 6:8 We be dead with Christ and we shall live with Christ.
Romans 6:23 Wages of sin is death and the gift of God is eternal life.
## Adam = Us standing before God under Adam, makes us sinners= DEATH
##Jesus = Us standing before God under Jesus, makes us saved = LIFE
God sees us thru Jesus. By grace we are saved thru faith. Romans 6:4-11 Jesus, being our substitute on the cross for our sins, is the only way we will get to Heaven. II Cor 5:15 Dont live unto ourselves but live unto Jesus who died for us. We should not live for ourselves but live for Jesus!

"We must finish our course with joy!"
I like that!... I subconsciously see myself straining over the finish line, or being helped over, or collapsing short and being drug over....the picture never crossed my mind to stroll across in joy!
