Pagan Christianity ?Posted : 14 Jan, 2011 06:55 PMIt's probably referring to Christians that still have a lot of pagan symbolism in their doctrine/worship. Like Objects/Beliefs/Statues/etc. |

Pagan Christianity ?Posted : 15 Jan, 2011 09:26 AMPagan is a word that comes from the Latin "paganus" which means country dweller, rustic. Early Christians began to use this word to refer to all other religions that could not be traced back to Abraham, typically polythesistic religions. (Christians used the word like the Jews used the word 'Gentile'.) The term pagan began to be associated with the word 'epicurian' meaning sensual, materialistic, and self-indulgent. |

Pagan Christianity ?Posted : 15 Jan, 2011 04:59 PMI Googled "Pagan Christianity" and got emergent church/Mars hill and Phil Driscoll who wrote a book titled Pagan Christianity. But really there is no such thing as Pagan Christianity. It is a contradiction of terms. The better phrase is counterfiet Christianity or just plain cult. |

Pagan Christianity ?Posted : 18 Jan, 2011 05:16 PMgood post GJ, and responses. I would think Pagan Christians based on the coining of this phrase, would be like those Paul wrote about in Galatians and Ephesians concerning the keeping of the law and the things of Christ, some were trying to mix their Chritian beliefs with Judasim. |
