It's probably referring to Christians that still have a lot of pagan symbolism in their doctrine/worship. Like Objects/Beliefs/Statues/etc.

Pagan is a word that comes from the Latin "paganus" which means country dweller, rustic. Early Christians began to use this word to refer to all other religions that could not be traced back to Abraham, typically polythesistic religions. (Christians used the word like the Jews used the word 'Gentile'.) The term pagan began to be associated with the word 'epicurian' meaning sensual, materialistic, and self-indulgent.

Therefore Pagan Christianity is a mixture of Christianity and Polytheism or can be used as slang when referring to a sensual, materialistic, or self-indulgent Christian.

I also believe it describes a very immoral lifestyle.

I Googled "Pagan Christianity" and got emergent church/Mars hill and Phil Driscoll who wrote a book titled Pagan Christianity. But really there is no such thing as Pagan Christianity. It is a contradiction of terms. The better phrase is counterfiet Christianity or just plain cult.

How do you define pagan? As an acronym, it stands for; People

Against

Goodness

And

Normalcy.

good post GJ, and responses. I would think Pagan Christians based on the coining of this phrase, would be like those Paul wrote about in Galatians and Ephesians concerning the keeping of the law and the things of Christ, some were trying to mix their Chritian beliefs with Judasim.

Also, in the book of Acts, Paul had to go before the council in Jerusalm, bcause there were Judiaziers , religious men who had not been converted, who came into the church teaching that the newly converted Christians could keep both the things of Christ, as well as keep the law according to Mose. Acts chapter 15.
