repentancePosted : 12 Sep, 2008 01:44 AMrepentance is not merely regretting ones misdeeds. its not only making a commitment to stay on the right track. to repent, one has to understand that when he sinned there were specific circumstances that led to that event. it involved the location, where the sin took place, individual powers, drives, weaknesses and desirers. having full regret and accomplishing a complete process of repentance, means that a person has arrived at a state where, if presented with the same circumstances when he had previously sinned, he will overcome any obstacle and not sin. |

repentancePosted : 12 Sep, 2008 06:36 PMMaybe this is too obvious for a first step (I'll list a second step in case it is), but I would say that the first step towards repenting is recognition/understanding of the sin that was committed. If a person can't recognize a sin when (s)he commits it, how can (s)he properly repent for it? I would say admitting that the sin is one's own fault is the second step. |
