What does EQUALLY YOKED really mean..?
Posted : 10 Dec, 2010 03:15 AM

Some have taken the scripural term, EQUALLY YOKED to mean, finding one who shares the same philosophical views of life.

This is the modern church's view of this term, as in indicated through the existance of over 32,000 denominations..

Don't these that are known as "believers" recognize that to build one's perspectives of life, on thin air, or someone else perspectives, is foolish and flawed?

It is this notion that has led to the creation of the [19-?] major religions, and the 375,000 other belief systems throughout the world.

Where dose the truth fit into all of this?

What is truth, after all?

Some on here, that I have chatted with, or talked with, seem to think that finding a mate is as easy as finding someone who likes the same football team, fishing, riding motorcycles, or even a someone's appearance, and or tastes in music, clothing, and political leanings..

A lot on here, as is evidential, have just resorted to trying to align one's life on as little criteria as possible; such as "having fun", or attending social events..

What does the Word of God state about this term, EQUALLY YOKED?

It may surprise you, but the term is not related to finding one, in life, who shares the same philosophical views as you.

For example: Did you know that the word "philosophy" finds its origins in ancient Greece's pantheon of the gods? Yes, it is true. The word PHILOSOPHY originated out of the Greek understanding, of "the love for Sophia". Sophia was the Greek's version of wisdom.

So, how is it possible to seek to share one's life perspectives, or philosophical views, when they are as diverse as the stars of heaven, and totally meaningless to one who is a true believer, who is COMMANDED not to have other gods before the One and True God of eternity..

THOU SHALT HAVE NO GODS BEFORE ME!

You, if you are a true believer, are not to believe in any god, but the One True God!

Sophia is a figment of man's warped and fallen nature. It was the Greek personification of wisdom. That is how Sophia came into existance, and thus a false goddess.

You are not to believe in the gods of the Sumerians, Akkadians, Babylonians, Grecians, Romans, and even the Americans..

NOW, perhaps you can see why the Statue of Liberty is so wicked! It is a metal fiction, an illusion, a falsehood meant to deceive humanity and lead them astray of the knowledge of the One True God!

You are not to even have one little clay or metal god, or even a mental god, in His earth, and even for one second think about displaying it in His glorious Face.. [although unseen]

So, how have these churches come to teach such a thing as Philosophy, if they are connected to the One True God, the Author of the Holy Bible?

The answer is, they are not connected to Him, they are satanic imposters; and herein is the key to comprehending the knowledge of the Creator..

The One True God has no visible image, except for the One in His son, Jesus, Who came to clash with the system, and to be killed by it, in order to redeem the Lord's chosen or elect people..

Do you worship the gods of the dead civilizations, the fictions designed by men, in order to create a socioeconomic system that surrounded the manufacturing of false gods?

This is where the gods all originated in the first place.

The gods of every past ancient civilization were created to be sold, and.or used to control men..

Have you bought into the lie?

Are you EQUALLY YOKED to the Lord, or do you think that it means to be in agreement with men..?

Please accept my apologies for not proof-reading this post. I was trying to get it out at 4:00AM, and was tired and made several mistakes. Perhaps, in the future I should write it in Word, and then Cut and Paste..

Thank you..

Prophetcalling,

Since you seem to have enough time to research the meanings of root words in their original languages, ancient false gods and how it all fits into modern society, could you do me a favor? :

Look up and research exactly what it means to yoke two animals together to do some work so that you understand the simile. Next go back to scripture and take note who this passage is written to. Then read the passage in context.

PS, In the post before this one are some good tips on how to interpret the Bible, especially the one by MargoSolo. Then perhaps you can better convey the point you are wanting to get across. I see some good stuff in your post but it is all mixed up.

2Co 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

2Co 6:15 What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?

2Co 6:16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, "I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

2Co 6:17 Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you,

2Co 6:18 and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty."

It's clear from this passage that we are being instructed not to join in a union with unbelievers. It's most often used on the context of marriage, but it applies equally to business partnerships and other areas where the actions of an unbeliever will reflect poorly upon our own witness.

In the context of marriage, I believe that being born again is just the tip of this iceberg. You must also share compatible understandings of the major doctrines of your faith. Without going into who's right or wrong, if one believes in infant baptism for salvation and the other doesn't, you're going to have major problems. If one believes in asking Jesus into your heart to be saved, and the other believes regeneration and repentance must take place first, then you'll have a lot of conflict. If one speaks in tongues that are incomprehensible to the other, it's not going to work.
