And Peter answered Yes all three times...of course Peter also Denied Jesus 3 times afor the Rooster crowed as Jesus said...Why did Jesus ask this ifin He already knew ?... Too often our pride answers the first couple times, and bypasses any really acknowledgment of how honest we're actually being. Just imagine prideful impulsive Peter standing there, and when Jesus asks him if he loves Him, he answers immediately without even thinking. Jesus asks again and Peter thinks "Of course I do...why is He asking me again?". And then the third time, He realizes that Jesus is teaching him to search his heart and answer in honest humility. God did this to him again when He was trying to get him to bypass his pride and treat the gentiles the same as the Jews even when there were Jews present. :peace::peace: Post Reply

Each time Jesus asked Peter �Do you Love Me?��Jesus was allowing Peter the opportunity to Affirm Peter�s Love for Christ. In a way Christ allows us to Affirm our Love for Him by asking us �Do you Love Me more than this?� When we decide that Football is more important than Christ is on Sunday we are answering His Question. When we choose Material things over Christ we are answering His Question. Every time we choose another master to Serve other than Christ�we are answering His Question. An Interesting side bar is that Christ then told Peter to �Feed My Sheep���Feed My Lambs�. This might make for another interesting Thread. Post Reply
